00:01 Hello everyone! Welcome to this tutorial on Items & Inventory in FrontAccounting.
00:07 In this tutorial, we will learn to set:
00:10 Units of Measure, Items, Item Category and Sales Pricing.
00:19 To record this tutorial, I am using:

Ubuntu Linux OS version 14.04, FrontAccounting version 2.3.25

00:30 To practice this tutorial, you should have Knowledge of Higher Secondary commerce or

knowledge of accounting.

00:38 Before we start, let us understand the meaning of Items.
00:41 Items are the things which you can buy or sell in the business.
00:47 We have to keep a record that lists key information about an inventory item.
00:53 Now, let us see the meaning of inventory.
00:57 It is a complete listing of:
00:59 Stock in hand, work in progress, raw materials and finished goods in hand.
01:08 Let us start by opening the Frontaccounting interface.
01:12 Click on the browser.
01:14 Type: localhost/account and press Enter.
01:19 The login page appears.
01:21 Here, type the username as admin and the password.
01:25 Click on Login button.
01:28 Frontaccounting window opens.
01:31 Click on the Items and Inventory tab.
01:34 The page opens and we can see various panels.
01:39 Under Transaction panel, we can see the options:
01:42 Inventory Location Transfers and Inventory Adjustments.
01:47 Inquiries and Reports panel is used for making reports and inquiries.
01:52 Here, we have the options:
01:54 Inventory Item Movements, Inventory Item Status and Inventory Reports.
02:01 Maintenance panel is used for setup of Items and Inventory details.
02:06 To do the setup, we have to make use of the following options:
02:10 Items, Units of Measure and Item Categories.
02:17 Pricing and Costs panel is used for selecting the pricing level of items or inventory.
02:23 For this, we have to use the option Sales Pricing.
02:27 Let us see how to set Units of Measure.
02:31 Units of Measure option has to be specified for each Item.
02:36 Here, we can see the chart which represents the Units of Measure.
02:41 The chart shows:
02:42 Physical quantity measured, Base unit and SI abbreviation.
02:49 We can see the Base unit of a substance is mole and the SI unit abbreviation is mol.
02:58 Likewise, base unit of scale is meter and the abbreviation is m.
03:05 Now, switch back to the Frontaccounting interface.
03:09 Click on Units of Measure option.
03:13 Here, we are prompted to fill in all the necessary information pertaining to the Units of Measure.
