00:06 In this tutorial, we will learn to,
00:09 Customize an existing route
00:12 Create a reverse route
00:14 Track the location of a route
00:17 Save a track and open a track
00:21 Clear the track and
00:22 Disable the position tracking from the map
00:26 To record this tutorial, I am using,
00:29 Ubuntu Linux OS, version 16.04
00:33 Marble version 1.12.20 and
00:37 A working Internet connection.
00:40 The process demonstrated in this tutorial is identical in,
00:45 Ubuntu Linux OS version 18.04
00:49 Marble version 2.2.20
00:53 To practise this tutorial, the learner should be familiar with Marble interface.

01:02 The file used in this tutorial is given in the Code files link.
01:07 Please download and extract the file to Desktop.
01:11 I have already downloaded and saved the file to the Desktop folder.
01:16 Right-click on the file and select Open with Marble option.
01:21 Earlier in this series we had created a route map from Mumbai to Pune.
01:26 Now we will see how to change an existing route.
01:30 We will change the destination from Pune to Aurangabad in the existing route.
01:35 This can be done using drag and drop method.
01:39 Move your mouse pointer on the route.
01:42 A green flag icon with + symbol appears.
01:46 This indicates that it is possible to add new routes.
01:50 Click with the left mouse button on the route.
01:54 Move the pointer and drop it at the new location, Aurangabad.
01:59 B icon appears on the location of Aurangabad.
02:03 Now we have to delete the ending point Pune.
02:07 Right click on the ending point Pune, in the existing route.
02:11 A context menu appears.
02:14 Select Remove this destination option.
02:18 Notice that the existing route is seen as a dotted line.
02:22 A new route from Mumbai to Aurangabad is created on the map.
02:27 An existing route can also be changed using the Add via icon.
02:33 We can see this icon as a plus green symbol in the Routing panel.
02:38 Click on the Add Via icon.
02:41 An input bar with C icon appears in the Routing panel.
02:46 In the new input bar we can enter the name of the new destination.
02:51 Click on the down arrow button next to C.
02:56 A drop down menu opens with different options.
02:59 Select From Map option.
03:02 I will enter the destination as Vadodara.
03:06 Click on the Get Directions button.
03:10 C icon appears on the location of Vadodara on the map.
03:15 Right-click on the ending point Aurangabad in the existing route.
03:20 Select Remove this destination option from the context menu.
03:25 A new route from Mumbai to Vadodara appears on the map.
03:29 Here Mumbai is the starting point and Vadodara is the destination.
03:34 Now we will see how to find a reverse route.
03:38 Click on the Reverse Route icon in the Routing panel.
03:42 Notice that the existing route is shown as a dotted line.
03:46 A reverse route from Vadodara to Mumbai is seen on the map.
03:50 Now source is Vadodara and destination is Mumbai.
03:54 To clear this route from the map, click on Clear Route icon.
03:59 Notice that the route from Mumbai to Vadodara has been cleared.
04:03 Now we will see how to open a route that we had saved earlier.
04:08 Click on the Open Route icon.
04:11 Open Route dialog box appears.
04:14 Select Mumbai hyphen Pune dot kml file from the Desktop.
04:19 Click on the Open button to open this file.
04:23 Route map from Mumbai to Pune opens.
04:26 Now we will learn about location tracking of a route.
04:30 Once we start our trip we can track our location.
04:34 Click on the Location panel.
04:37 Click on the drop down button below Position Tracking.
04:41 Select Current Route option.
04:44 Check the Show Track check box.
04:47 We can see a moving arrow with a blue circle on the route.
04:53 This arrow indicates the current location of the route.
04:57 Longitude and Latitude of the current location are shown in the Location panel.
05:03 Speed and Distance covered by the vehicle are also seen in the Location panel.
05:09 Now let us save the track.

Click on the Save Track icon.

05:14 A Save Track dialog box appears.
05:17 Select a location to save the track.
05:20 I will select the Desktop folder.
05:22 In the File Name field, type the name as Track hyphen 1 dot kml.
05:29 Please note that the file extension should be dot kml.
05:34 Click on the Save button.
05:37 Let us open our saved track.
05:40 I will close this Marble application.
05:43 Go to the Desktop folder.
05:45 Track hyphen 1 dot kml file has been saved on the Desktop.
05:50 To open this file right-click on it.
05:53 Select the option Open with Marble.
05:56 Notice that the current track from Mumbai to Pune has been saved.
06:01 Next we will clear the current track from the map.
06:04 Click on the Clear Track button in the Location panel.
06:08 Clear current track dialog box appears.
06:11 A message “Are you sure you want to clear the current track?” appears.
06:16 Click on the Yes button.
06:18 Current track has been removed from the map.
06:22 Observe that Track hyphen 1 is still seen on the route.
06:27 Let us disable the position tracking.
06:30 Go to the drop down button below Position Tracking and select Disabled option.
06:36 The position tracking arrow has now disappeared.
06:40 Even though the arrow has disappeared, route from Mumbai to Pune is still seen.
