01:13 I have opened the Marble interface.
01:17 We will show the route maps using the OpenStreetMap view.
01:22 Go to the Mapview and select OpenStreetMap.
01:27 OpenStreetMap opens on the interface.
01:31 Let us first learn about OpenStreetMap.
01:35 OpenStreetMap is an editable navigational map.
01:40 It gives information about roads, boundaries and transport links.
01:48 OpenStreetMap shows prominent buildings, airports and train tracks.
01:56 For better visibility, I will select Flat View option from the drop-down.
02:02 Let us go to our home location Mumbai.
02:07 I will hide Overviewmap, Compass and Windrose for better view of the map.
02:17 I will zoom in to show some places in Mumbai on the map.
02:24 They are,

Sanjay Gandhi National park

02:28 Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport
02:34 Western and central railway lines
02:41 Godrej Memorial hospital and IIT Bombay.
02:58 Go to the Legend panel and click on it.
02:52 Let us scroll down to show different symbols that represent different attributes.
02:58 They are,

Transportation

03:06 Places of Interest
03:09 Education and others.
03:17 Let us zoom out to go back to the default location.
03:22 Now we will learn how to create route maps.
03:27 I will drag the boundary to see the map clearly.
03:32 To find a route map between two places, click on the Routing panel.
03:37 In the Routing panel, we see two input bars with green coloured A and B icons.
03:45 Click on the down arrow button next to A.
03:49 A drop-down menu opens with different options.

Select From Map option.

03:57 In the input bars, we will enter the source and destination of the route.
04:03 I will demonstrate how to find a route map from Mumbai to Pune.
04:09 As Mumbai is our starting point, let us type Mumbai in the first input bar.
04:16 Click on the Search button or press Enter key on the keyboard.
04:21 Let us wait till Mumbai is located on the map.
04:26 A message, placemarks found: 1 appears next to the Search button.
04:33 On the map, location of Mumbai is marked as A.
04:38 This A icon is the same as the one shown in the input bar.
04:43 Go to the second input bar and click on the down arrow button next to B.
04:50 From the drop-down select From Map option.
04:54 I will type Pune in the second input bar.
04:59 Click on the Search button or press Enter key on the keyboard.
05:04 Again we will wait till Pune is located on the map.
05:10 This location is shown using B icon on the map.
05:15 Notice that Search button is now replaced by a Get Directions button.
05:22 Click on the Get Directions button.
05:25 Route map from Mumbai to Pune is shown on the map.
05:30 A message, routes found :1 appears in the Routing panel.
05:36 Let us zoom in to get a clear view of the route.
05:44 Distance between these two places is shown at the bottom of the Routing panel.
05:50 Below the input bars we see a Car (fastest) drop down button.
05:56 This drop-down button has four route profiles.
06:01 They are,

Car(fastest)

06:04 Car (shortest)
06:06 Bicycle and Pedestrian.
06:09 By default, Car(fastest) route profile is selected.
06:14 The route profile depends on the type of vehicle we choose.
06:19 On the map we see a route map from Mumbai to Pune with Car(fastest) route profile.
06:27 Let us find the same route map with Bicycle route profile.
06:32 Click on the Car(fastest) drop-down button and select Bicycle.
06:37 The Car fastest route profile from Mumbai to Pune is deleted.
06:43 Click on the Get directions button.
06:46 Please wait if buffering sign is seen.
06:51 A message No route found is seen on the Routing panel.
06:55 Click on the Settings icon in the Routing panel.
06:58 Configure Routing Profile - Marble Virtual Globe dialog box opens.
07:05 Under the Active Route Services Service Settings, uncheck all the checkboxes.
07:12 Then click on Yours checkbox.
07:16 Click on the OK button in the box.
07:19 Now click on the Get Directions button.
07:23 A new route map appears on the map with Bicycle route profile.
07:29 Now we will see how to remove this route map.

Right-click on the ending point B.

07:36 A context menu opens.
07:39 From the context menu select Remove this destination option.
07:45 Route map between Mumbai and Pune is deleted.
07:50 To remove the starting point A, right-click on A.
07:55 Select Remove this destination option.
07:59 Now I will show how to find local routes on the map.
08:04 For demonstration, we will find a route map from Kalyan to Panvel.
08:10 Let us locate our starting point Kalyan.
08:14 Right-click on its label.
08:17 A context menu appears.
08:20 Select Directions from here option.
08:24 A icon appears at the starting point, Kalyan.
08:28 Let us locate our destination, Panvel. Right-click on its label.
08:36 Context menu appears again.
08:38 Select Directions to here option.
08:42 Route map from Kalyan to Panvel appears on the map.
08:47 I will demonstrate how to export this route map.
08:51 Right-click on the route map.
08:54 Context menu appears again.
08:57 From the context menu select Export Route option.
09:02 Export Route dailog box opens.
09:06 Select a location to save the file.
09:10 I will select the Desktop folder.
09:14 In the File name field type the name as Route hyphen 1 dot gpx.
09:22 In the Files of type field, we can select the file format as .gpx or .kml.
09:31 Click on the Save button.
09:34 I will close the Marble application.
09:38 Let us check the exported route map.
09:42 The exported route map Route hyphen 1 dot gpx file is saved on the Desktop.
09:50 Let us double-click to open this file. Select Open with KDE Marble option.
09:59 The route map from Kalyan to Panvel is shown here.
