I will select Yellow. |
| 06:01 | The selected colour will be reflected in the text in the Preview area. |
| 06:07 | Click the OK button at the bottom right corner. |
| 06:11 | Click anywhere else outside the textbox. |
| 06:15 | Notice that the color of the body text has changed now. |
| 06:20 | Let’s now learn how to add other design elements to this slide. |
| 06:26 | For example, let’s add a logo to our presentation. |
| 06:36 | We’ll draw an imaginary logo of our own. |
| 06:35 | To do so, go to the Drawing Toolbar and then click on the ‘Insert Basic Shapes’ drop-down. |
| 06:43 | A variety of basic shapes are seen here. |
| 06:48 | I will click on the ‘Rectangle’ shape.
If you prefer another shape, please choose that. |
| 06:55 | Now move the cursor to the top left corner of the title area in the slide. |
| 07:02 | The cursor turns into a plus sign with a capital I subscript. |
| 07:08 | Hold the left mouse button and drag to draw a rectangle as shown here.
Now release the mouse button. |
| 07:18 | That is how a shape can be added in a Master slide. |
| 07:23 | Adjust the size of the rectangle as per your preference, using the Control points. |
| 07:30 | We will change the colour of this rectangle now. |
| 07:34 | So, right-click on the Rectangle and then click on the ‘Area’ option. |
| 07:41 | The Area dialog box appears on the screen. |
| 07:45 | In the Area tab, by default the Color sub-tab should already be selected.
If not, please click on it. |

| 08:10 | Click the OK button at the bottom right corner. |
| 08:15 | Notice that the color of the rectangle has changed. |
| 08:19 | However, notice that the text below the orange rectangle is not visible.
Let’s learn how to make this text visible. |
| 08:30 | Make sure the rectangle is still selected. |
| 08:34 | On the Formatting Toolbar, click on the drop-down of the Arrange icon. |
| 08:40 | Then click on the Send to Back option. |
| 08:44 | Notice that the text becomes visible now. |
| 08:48 | Click anywhere else outside the textboxes. |
| 08:52 | After all the formatting to the Master slide is done, click on the Master Slide section in the Sidebar. |
| 09:01 | In the ‘Used in This Presentation’ section, locate the Master slide named ‘Default’. |
| 09:08 | Right-click on the ‘Default’ Master slide and then click on the ‘Apply to All Slides’ option. |
| 09:16 | Finally, click on the Close Master View icon in the Standard Toolbar. |
| 09:22 | Now close the Master Slide section for a better view. |
| 09:27 | The formatting changes made in the Master Slide are applied to all slides in the presentation. |
| 09:35 | Also, notice that the orange rectangle is displayed on all the slides. |
| 09:42 | And, this rectangle can only be edited using the Master Slide. |
| 09:48 | The settings in Master slide overrides any formatting changes or layouts applied to slides. |
| 09:57 | Let’s check what happens now when we add a new slide. |
| 10:02 | First, select the slide titled ‘Open Source Funny’ in the Slide Pane.
And insert a new slide as shown here. |
| 10:12 | Notice that the rectangle we added using Master Slide is visible in the new slide as well. |
| 10:20 | Type ‘Potential Alternatives’ in the Title textbox and click outside the textbox. |
| 10:28 | Click on the Slide Layout icon in the Standard Toolbar.
And select ‘Title, 2 Content over Content’ layout. |
| 10:40 | Now the inserted slide has three Body textboxes and a Title textbox. |
| 10:47 | Enter some content in the Body textboxes of the new slide, as shown here. |
| 10:55 | Let’s revisit all the slides and adjust the colour and spacing of the text on each one. |
| 11:15 | We will now save all these changes for future use and then close the presentation file. |
