Pre-requisites

  • You should have knowledge of Library Science
To follow this tutorial, you should have knowledge of Library Science.
Login with Superlibrarian account

Username - Bella

Password - Library@1

Choose Library as Spoken Tutorial Library.

Click on Login

To create a spine label template I have already logged in as a Superlibrarian.
Click on Cataloging module On the Koha homepage click on the Cataloging module.
Highlight Cataloging page The Cataloging page opens.
Cursor on Tools >> Choose #Label Creator Now go to the Tools section and click on Label Creator.

Click on New dropdown >> Label template Now click on the New dropdown and select Label template.

Enter Template code: Spine Template

Leave the Template description: 5 columns and 10 rows.

You can create Template code and Template description for this Label.

For now we will enter the Template code as a Spine Template.

In the Template description textbox we will type 5 columns and 10 rows.

Cursor on Units

Click on dropdown >> US Inches

Next for the Units field click on the drop down and select US Inches.
Cursor on Page height and Page width

Enter Page height: 11 in

Enter Page width 8.5 in

Enter Label width: 2.5 in

Enter Label height 1.5 in

Now we will set the margin for the spine template as shown here.

Enter Top page margin: .5 in

Enter Left page margin: .4 in

Enter Top text margin: .125 in

Enter Left text margin: .1

Enter Number of columns: 5

Enter Number of rows: 10

Enter Gap between columns: .12 in

Enter Gap between rows: .5 in

Moving to the right side, we will also set the margin for the following fields as shown here.
Click on Save button

Cursor on the results

After filling all the details click on the Save button at the bottom of the page.

This will bring us back to the Label templates page.

Here we can see the Spine Template is created successfully.
