Show slide number 1 Dear friends,

welcome to first part of spoken tutorial on Installing in local environment ( Windows and Linux ).

Switch to slide number 2 Download the latest copy of Joomla! from the net. http://www.joomla.org/download.html
Switch to slide number 3 After completing the download, unzip the files into the “joomla_st” directory
Open Internet Explorer/ Mozilla Firefox Go to http://localhost/joomla_st and

follow the 7 steps such as “language”, “Pre-installation check”, “license”, “database”, “FTP configuration”, “configuration”, and finally Step “Finish”

Stay in browser Select your language on step 1 and press “Next” at the top.
Continue the steps in browser Make sure that there are no red items on step 2 and press “Next” to proceed.
Continue in browser Read over the license in step 3 and press “Next.”
Continue in browser On the “Database Configuration” page, enter the following details in Basic settings, then press “Next”

Database type : MySQL, Host Name : localhost, User Name : root, Password:"+++++", Database name:joomlastdb

Continue in browser Skip over step 5 and press “Next” to proceed to step 6.
Continue in browser Enter the site name “Joomla! Spoken Tutorials”, then the e-mail address and admin password of your choice. Note: Press “Install Sample Data!”
Continue in browser Press “Next” to complete the installation.
Continue in browser Return back to the installer and click on “Site.”
Go to directory Open up the location where Joomla! was unzipped(usually C:\wamp\www\joomla_st) and delete the “installation” directory
go back to browser If you completed the install successfully, you should now see a site ready for all personalized Joomla! content!
