Here we are using Firefox 7.0 on Ubuntu 10.04.

Open the Firefox browser. | Let us open the Firefox browser. |
By default the yahoo home page opens. | |
Point to the Bookmarks bar. | Bookmarks help you navigate to pages that you use often.

Point to gmail on the Bookmarks bar. |
We had learnt a little bit about Bookmarks in an earlier tutorial.
We had also added a bookmark for gmail there. |
On Bookmarks Toolbar click on gmail.com. | Let’s click on this to open the gmail home page. |
Point to gmail. | You are directed to the gmail home page. |
Point to the star at the right of the address bar. | Did you notice the yellow star on the right of the gmail address in the Address bar? |
This indicates that this site has been bookmarked. | |
Point to the star. | You can also use the star to change the name of a bookmark and store it in a different folder. |
Let’s change the name of gmail to mygmailpage and store it in a new folder named MyNewBookmarks. | |
In the Address bar, click on the yellow Star icon. | In the Address bar, click on the yellow star. |
Point to the Edit This Bookmark dialog box | The Edit This Bookmark dialog box appears. |
In the Name field enter mygmailpage. | In the Name field, enter mygmailpage. |
Click on the Folder drop-down and select Choose. | Click on the Folder drop-down and select Choose. |

From Menu bar, click on Bookmarks. |

Point to the MyBookMarks folder. | The MyBookMarks folder is displayed in the Bookmarks menu. |
Place the cursor on the folder.
Point to mygmailpage. |
Place the cursor on the folder.
The mygmailpage bookmark is saved there. |
In the Address bar, type, email. | Now, in the Address bar, type the tag, email. |
Point that the site mygmailpage is displayed as the first option on the drop-down list. | Notice that the site mygmailpage is displayed as the first option on the list. |
So, we have renamed the bookmark, saved it in another folder and located it using a tag! | |
Now, let’s bookmark the www dot google dot com website. <Pause> | |

Notice that we have not saved these bookmarks to a folder. | |
And how do we delete a bookmark we created? | |
Click on the yellow star and then point to the Remove Bookmark button. | Of course, you’ve already noticed the Remove bookmark button in the Edit This Bookmark dialog box. |

Let’s delete the www.google.com bookmark.

How can you access the bookmarks you create?
You can access bookmarks in many ways. | |
Point to the Address bar. | The easiest way, to access a site that you bookmarked, is to type the name in the Address bar. |
Click on the Address bar, select the address displayed and delete it. | Click on the Address bar, select the address displayed and delete it. |
In the Address bar,Type the letter G. | Now, in the Address bar, type the letter G. |
Point to the websites that are listed. |

You can also view and arrange your bookmarks in the Library window. | |
From Menu bar, click on Bookmarks and select Show All Bookmarks. | From Menu bar, click on Bookmarks and select Show All Bookmarks. |
Point to the Library window. | The Library window opens. |
Click the Unsorted Bookmarks folder in the left panel. | By default all the bookmarks that you created are saved in the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. |
Point to the Yahoo and Spoken Tutorial bookmarks listed here. | Notice that the Yahoo, Spoken Tutorial, Ubuntu and FireFox Add-ons bookmarks are listed here. |
Let’s say we want to add the Yahoo India bookmark to the Bookmarks menu. | |
Move the Library window to the centre of the scree. |

From the Unsorted Bookmarks folder select the Yahoo bookmark. | From the Unsorted Bookmarks folder select the Yahoo bookmark. |

The Bookmark menu expands. | |
Place the mouse pointer on the menu and release the left mouse button. | Place the mouse pointer on the menu and release the left mouse button. |
Point to Yahoo bookmark that is now displayed on the bookmark menu. | Now click on the Bookmark menu.
The Yahoo bookmark now appears on the Bookmark menu. |
Point to a bookmark in the right panel. | To open a bookmark directly from the Library window, simply double-click on it. |
Close the Library window. | Now, let’s close the Library window. |
Firefox also allows you to sort bookmarks. | |
Let’s Sort bookmarks by Names. | |
From Menu bar, click View menu, select Sidebar, and then click Bookmarks. | From Menu bar, click View, select Sidebar, and then click on Bookmarks. |
Point to the Bookmarks sidebar in the left panel. | The Bookmarks sidebar opens in the left panel. |

Let’s bookmark Google.com again. <Pause> |
Right-click on the Unsorted Bookmarks. | From the Bookmarks sidebar, select the Unsorted Bookmarks folder and right-click on it. |
Then select Sort By Name. | Select Sort By Name. |
Point to the sorted bookmarks in the right panel. | The bookmarks are sorted by name. |

You can also rearrange the bookmarks manually. |
Switch to Firefox.
From the Bookmarks Sidebar, click on and open the Bookmarks menu folder. |
From the Bookmarks Sidebar, click on and open the Bookmarks Menu folder. |
Click on and open the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. | Next, click on and open the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. |
Move the mouse over the Spoken Tutorial bookmark. | Move the mouse over the Spoken Tutorial bookmark. |
Keeping the left mouse button pressed, move the bookmark up to Ubuntu and Free Software folder in the Bookmarks Sidebar. | Now, press the left mouse button and drag the bookmark up to Ubuntu and Free Software folder in the Bookmarks Sidebar. |
Release the mouse button. | Release the mouse button. |
Point to the bookmark. | The bookmark is moved to the Ubuntu and Free Software folder. |
Changes you make in the Bookmarks Sidebar are also reflected in the Bookmarks menu. | |
You can also sort bookmarks automatically.

Switch to Firefox.
From the Menu bar, click Bookmarks and select Show all bookmarks. |

In the Library window that appears, from the left panel, select Unsorted bookmarks. | In the Library window that appears, from the left panel, select Unsorted bookmarks. |
From the Main menu in the library window, click on Views >> Sort >>Sort by Added. | Now, click on Views, Sort and Sort by Added. |
Point to the sorted list.
Click Close. |
The address are sorted by the order in which they were added as bookmarks.

Finally, let’s learn how to print this web page. | |
First let’s set up this web page for printing. | |
Switch to Firefox.
From the Firefox menu bar, click File and select Page Setup. |
From the Firefox menu bar, click File and select Page Setup. |
Point to the Page Setup dialog box | The Page Setup dialog box appears. |
Select the Paper Size as A4. | Select the Paper Size as A4. |
Choose Orientation as Portrait. | Choose Orientation as Portrait. |
Click Apply. | Click Apply. |
To check how the settings are applied, click File and select Print Preview. | To check how the settings have been applied, click File and select Print Preview. |
Point to the preview. | You can see the page exactly as it would look when it is printed. |
Click Close to exit the print preview. | Click Close to exit. |
From the top left of the Firefox window, click File and select Print. | From the Firefox menu bar, click File and select Print. |
In the Print dialog box that opens, click on the General tab | The Print dialog box appears on the screen.
Here we select the Generic Printer option in General Tab. |

Click the Options tab and select Ignore scaling and shrink to fit page width. | Click the Options tab and select Ignore Scaling and Shrink To Fit Page Width. |
Just point to the Print button, do not click on it. | Click Print. |
If the printer is configured correctly, the printer should start printing now.
