00:00 Welcome to the Spoken Tutorial on Introduction to Tux Typing.
00:05 In this tutorial, you will learn how to:
00:08 Type phrases.

Create your own list of words.

00:12 Get to know information about setting language for typing.
00:17 Here, we are using Tux Typing 1.8.0 on Ubuntu Linux 11.10.
00:26 Let us open Tux Typing.
00:28 Click on Dash Home.
00:31 In the Search box, type Tux Typing.
00:36 Click the Tux Typing icon.
00:38 From the Main menu, click Options.
00:42 The Options menu appears.Now let’s practice typing phrases.
00:47 Click Phrase Typing.
00:49 Let us type the sentence displayed in the Teacher’s line.
00:53 In this case it is “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”.
01:06 Now, we need to type the next sentence, should we not?
01:10 Press Enter.The next sentence appears.
01:14 We have now learnt to type sentences.
01:17 You can keep practicing with different sentences.
01:21 Let us now press Esc to return to the previous menu.
01:26 The Options menu appears.
01:29 We will now learn to add new words and sentences.
01:34 Click Edit Word Lists.
01:37 The Word List Editor window appears.
01:40 Shall we enter a new word?
01:42 In the Word List Editor window, click NEW.
01:46 The Create a New Wordlist window appears.
01:49 In the Create a New Wordlist window, let us type Learn to Type. Click OK.
02:01 The Word List Editor window appears.
02:04 We can remove the word or sentence typed, by clicking Remove.
02:10 Let’s click DONE to save the word or sentence and return to the Internal menu.
02:17 The Options menu appears.
02:20 You can setup language by clicking Setup language option from the Internal Menu.
02:26 The Tux Typing Interface and lessons will be displayed in the language you select.
02:32 However, currently Tux Typing does not support lessons in other languages.
02:38 Now let us play a game.
02:40 Click Main Menu.
02:44 Click the Fish Cascade button.
02:47 The Game menu appears.
02:50 Before starting the game, let us read the instructions on how to play it.Click Instructions.
02:57 Read the instructions to play the game.
03:03 To continue, let’s press the space bar.
03:07 Let’s now select an easy game for us to practice typing.Click Easy.
03:13 The window comprising different options appears.
03:18 The different options are names of colors, fruits, plants, and so on. Click Colors.
03:26 Fish fall from the sky.Each fish also has a letter on it.
03:32 If you type the words correctly, the word turns red and vanishes.
03:38 Then, as the fish falls, the penguin runs to eat them.
03:42 Now let’s type a character that is not part of a falling fish. What happens?
03:47 The characters remain white indicating that you need to type it correctly.
03:52 Continue playing this game as long as you wish.
03:55 Press the Escape button twice to go back to the Games menu.<pause>
04:00 Here is an assignment for you.
04:02 Change the difficulty level to Medium or Hard and play the game.
04:09 This brings us to the end of this tutorial on Tux Typing.
