Turn-on and Turn-off a Smartphone

In this tutorial we will learn about how to:
  • Turn-on a smartphone
  • Restart a smartphone
  • Turn-off a smartphone

Android and smartphone

For demonstrations in this tutorial, I will be using an Android smartphone.

  1. Hold the phone front side up
  2. Move around the edges/rim of the phone
  3. Point at the power button
  4. Show multiple images of a smartphone with the power button
Let us first look at how to turn-on a smartphone.

First, hold the smartphone with the screen facing upward.

Now go around the edges of the smartphone to locate the power button.

Like this, on my smartphone it is here.

Note that the position of the power button varies from one smartphone to another.

Usually, it is a single button on the upper left or right half of the smartphone.

To turn-on the smartphone, press the power button and hold it for a few seconds.

Once the screen turns on, release the power button.

The display on the screen may vary based on the smartphone's model.

Now wait for a few seconds until the smartphone completes the starting process.

Now the smartphone is ready to use.

Let us now see how to turn-off the smartphone.

Hold the smartphone with the screen facing upwards.

To turn-off a smartphone, press the power button for a few seconds.

Options to turn-off will appear on the screen.

Now release the power button.

Highlight the options There are two options to turn-off the device.

The power-off option turns the device off completely.

The Restart option turns off the device and starts it again in a single go.

  1. Highlight restart option
  2. Show the confirmation message
  3. Highlight the restart option
  4. Show the smartphone turning off
  5. And Show the smartphone starting again
  6. Show the home screen of a smartphone
To restart the smartphone, tap on the Restart option.

Now follow the instructions on the screen.

Wait for the smartphone to restart.

This may take some time.

During this process, a smartphone will turn-off and turn-on on its own.

Once this process is complete the smartphone will be ready to use.

  1. Show mobile (face-up)
  2. Show the power button being pressed and released
  3. Highlight turn-off option
  4. Highlight Power-off
  5. Show the smartphone turning off. And then the blank screen of a smartphone
To turn-off the smartphone, press the power button for a few seconds.

Release the power button when the options to turn-off appear on the screen.

Tap on the power-off option.

Now follow the instructions on the screen.

Wait for the screen to turn-off.
