00:14 Here we are using Firefox 7.0 on Ubuntu 10.04.
00:20 Let us open the Firefox browser.
00:23 By default, the yahoo home page opens.
00:27 What are Extensions or Add-ons?
00:29 Extensions allow you to:
00:31 * Add new features to the Firefox browser.
00:35 * Enhance existing features.
00:37 * Customize the Firefox browser to suit your preferences.
00:42 Extensions are a part of the Firefox browser
00:45 and extend the browser’s capabilities.
00:48 For example, you can install extensions that:
00:51 # Block advertisements or pop-ups.
00:54 # Compare prices of commodities and even
00:56 # display weather updates.
01:00 Let’s install the Grab and Drag extension.
01:03 Grab and Drag let’s you scroll through web pages in various ways.
01:07 It is similar to the 'grab and drag' function in Adobe Acrobat.
01:12 From the Menu bar, click Tools and Add-ons.
01:16 The Add-ons Manager tab opens.
01:20 Alternately, you can also press the Ctrl+Shift+A keys together to open the Add-ons Manager tab.
01:28 The left panel in Add-ons Manager displays the available options.
01:34 Notice, by default the option Get Add-ons is selected.
01:39 The right panel displays information for the option selected in the left panel.
01:45 So, the right panel defines Add-ons and tells you how to get started with add-ons.
01:51 It even lists some Add-ons you can install.
01:55 Now, we shall install the new Add-on- Grab and Drag.
01:59 First, in the Search bar, located on the top-right corner, type: Grab and Drag. Press Enter.
02:08 The right panel, now lists the add-ons that best match the name we searched for.
02:14 Also, notice that all the add-ons that have the word drag in the title are displayed.
02:20 Notice that the first name on the list, Grab and Drag, is an exact match.
02:26 Click on Install.
02:28 As with most softwares, some add-ons too may have 'end-user license agreements'.
02:35 On the End-User License Agreement dialog box, click Accept and Install.
02:41 The Add-on downloading progress bar appears.
02:46 Next, a message that the 'add-on will be installed
02:50 when you restart Mozilla Firefox'is displayed.
02:54 Click on Restart Now.
02:57 The Firefox browser closes and reopens.
03:01 The Add-ons Manager opens in a new tab.
