Extensions are Firefox add-ons that provide additional functionality to Firefox.

People all over the world have developed thousands of extensions for Firefox. There are extensions that allow you to block advertisements, download videos from websites, integrate more closely with websites like Facebook or Twitter, and add features you see in other browsers. Let's say we want to install an extension which gives us the ability to navigate by grabbing and dragging. To install it, the procedure is like this. Go to tools → add-ons the add-ons manager tab opens up. On the left, you can see a number of tabs. These are for different purposes. For our purpose, we need a new add on, so leave all the tabs untouched. In the search bar located on top-right corner, type 'drag' and press the enter key This brings up all the add ons that have the word drag in the title. Since we are looking for an add on that will help us to navigate in a grab and drag style similar to adobe acrobat, on the result that say 'grab and drag' click on install. The purpose of this button is to download the add on onto your computer and configure it for Mozilla Firefox As with other softwares, some of these addons may have user agreements dealing with how you can use them. Read the user agreement which pops up. On the user agreement click accept and install. The add on is now downloaded, but it will not be usable until you restart Mozilla Firefox. click on the ‘restart now’ link That's it! Your new add on is now installed. The first time you open Mozilla Firefox the browser sometimes gives a message, 'firefox prevented this site from asking you to install software on your computer'

If this happens, click the 'allow' button.

Select the grab and drag extension Click the Preferences button. If the Preferences button is not available, the extension does not offer settings to change. Each extension will have different settings that can be changed. Right-click on an extension in the list click on About and select Visit Home Page to see if the extension's author has a website with documentation.

You can refer to the documentation for details of the add on. To update extensions, Go to tools → addons In the Add-ons window, select the Extensions panel from left panel. Right-click on ‘Grab and Drag’ extensions and select find updates. If there were updates found, the Updates panel will be selected. Click Install Updates. The updates will be downloaded.
