00:24 The people of Hiware Bazar' depended on rain for agriculture.
00:29 Heavy soil erosion had degraded the land quality.
00:35 Drinking water was scarcely available.


00:40 They did not have enough fodder.
00:44 Fuel wood was also unavailable.
00:49 These lead to a lot of social problems like:-
00:53 Unemployment.
00:55 People were finding it difficult to get jobs

01:03 And Increase in crime rate
01:06 Current Condition in Hiware Bazar
01:09 Per capita income increased from Rs 830 in 1995 to Rs 30,000 in 2012


01:19 The village has 60 millionaires
01:23 The number of families below poverty line decreased from 168 in 1995 to only 3 in 2012
01:34 During the same period, milk production per day increased from 150 litres to 4000 litres.
01:43 Literacy rate has grown from 30% to 95%
01:51 Crime rate has come down drastically.
01:54 And Employment has increased.

04:05 Consumption of liquor and tobacco was completely banned
04:10 Gram Sabha tied up with the banks to provide loans to those who had liquor shops

04:28 A strict one child per family rule was imposed
