Breastfeeding

We will talk about Breastfeeding,
  • Breastfeeding is recommended upto two years of life
  • Exclusive breastfeeding is mandatory for first six months of life
  • Mother's milk takes care of nutritional needs till first 6 months

Complementary Foods

Next we will move on to Complementary foods
  • After 6 months, breastmilk is insufficient for a baby
  • Other food should be given in addition
  • These foods are called complementary foods.

  • It will make food more nutritious

Now we will look at the amount of food required for the baby
  • Initially 1 tablespoon of food should be given then go upto 4 tbsp during 7 th month
    amount and consistency should be improved as per the age of the baby

Next we will move on to Lactating Mother's nutrition.
  • Mother's should take care of their own nutrition too
