Slide: Prerequisites

To follow this tutorial, you should:

  • Have a student login
  • Be enrolled in a course with a published assignment activity
  • For the prerequisite Moodle tutorials, please visit https://EduPyramids.org
Here are the prerequisites for this tutorial.
Login as Mahima Singh with username = mahima.singh and password = Mahima@123 Login to Moodle with your student Mahima’s account.
Screen: Dashboard → My Courses → Advanced Algebra In the top menu, go to My Courses and select Advanced Algebra course.
Scroll and locate "Quiz for Basic Calculus" Scroll and locate Assignment 1 – Evolutes and Involutes.
Screen: Point to the Assignment Instructions, Grading status and Submission status Click on it.

You will be taken to the assignment page.

This page shows instructions, due date, grading status, and submission status.

Screen: Click on Add Submission Click on the Add submission button to begin.
Screen: Point to the Online Text box File Upload box → >> → Click Upload a file → below Attachment click Choose file You can now submit your assignment in two ways.

Type directly in the Online Text box (if enabled).

Or upload a file by dragging it to the upload area.

Or clicking the circular plus icon.

Screen: File Picker → Upload a File → Upload this file In the file picker dialog, click on Upload a file → then on Browse.

Select the assignment answer file from your computer.

Then click Upload this file.

Screen: Save Changes button After uploading the file or typing in the Online Text box, click Save changes.
Screen: Submission Status → Draft The submission will now appear in Draft status.

You can edit it until the due date if your teacher has allowed editing.

Point to "Remove assignment" button You can also remove it, in case you want to re-do the assignment.
Screen: Final Submit assignment → Continue Click on Submit assignment button to confirm your submission.

A confirmation prompt will follow. Click Continue.

Screen: Submission Status – Submitted for grading Your submission is now marked as Submitted for grading.

You cannot make changes after this point.

Screen: Grading and Feedback (after evaluation) Once the teacher evaluates your work, the grade and feedback will appear on the same page.
Click Math-202 in the breadcrumbs Assignment-1 → Done status Click Math-202 in the breadcrumbs to return to the Advanced Algebra course page.

Notice that the status of Assignment-1 has now changed to Done.

This is how a student can submit assignments in Moodle.
