From the sub-menu select Manual Break. |

Click on the down arrow to expand the options. |

Let us select Horizontal scroll. |

05:34 | Hold the left mouse button and drag the shape in the empty space of column 2.
Click anywhere else to deselect the shape. |

05:50 | First go to page 1 and place the cursor before the word FOSS in column 1. |

06:35 | Centre-align it, increase the font size to 16, make the text bold. |

Click on the Font Effects tab. |

07:30 | Now let’s learn how to add a watermark. |
07:34 | Watermark is used to indicate that the document is to be treated in a special way. |

07:45 | Let me demonstrate how to add a watermark. |
07:49 | Go to the Format menu in the menu bar and select the Watermark option. |

07:58 | In the Text field, type “For internal circulation”. |
08:04 | Increase the transparency to 70 % and change the color to Light Red 3.
Then click on the OK button. |
08:17 | We can see our Watermark is added to the newsletter. |
08:22 | Lastly, we will learn about the Word count feature in Writer. |
08:27 | Word count feature helps to maintain word count in a document. |
08:32 | It helps us to know the number of words in the document which we typed. |
08:38 | It also counts pages, paragraphs, lines, and characters. |
08:45 | Select the last paragraph which we had highlighted earlier. |
08:50 | Observe the word count that is displayed in the Status bar. |
08:55 | Click on Word and Character count in the Status bar. |
09:00 | The Word Count dialog box opens up. |
09:03 | It shows the word count for the current selection.
And also for the whole document as well. |
09:11 | It also shows the total count of Characters including spaces and excluding spaces. |
09:18 | Close the Word Count dialog box by clicking on the Close button. |
09:22 | Save all the changes and close the file. |
