Show Slide 2 Learning Objectives To import images into a Draw page To save a Draw file into various file formats	In this tutorial, you will learn To import images into a Draw page and To save a Draw file into various file formats.
	We can import and export both vector and bitmap or raster images in Draw.
Show Slide 3 System Requirements Ubuntu Linux version 10.04 LibreOffice Suite version 3.3.4	Here we are using Ubuntu Linux version 10.04 and LibreOffice Suite version 3.3.4.
Switch to the opend RouteMap file.	Let us open the file RouteMap.
Go to the desktop and select and open the converted WaterCycle.jpeg file in the desk top. <<Please do not show the conversion here.>> Just display the converted WaterCycle.jpeg image.	For the purpose of this tutorial, a JPEG file of the WaterCycle drawing has already been created and saved on the Desktop.
	Let us import this image into our Draw file.
Close this image.	Let’s close this image.
Switch to the Draw file.	First, select the page where you want to import the picture.
Go to the “Pages Pane”, right-click for the Context menu, click New Page.	Let’s insert a new page and select it.
From the Main menu >> click on Insert >> click Picture.	To import vector or bitmap images, click on the Insert tab and select Picture.
Click From File.	Then click “From File”.
Insert Picture dialog box appears.	The “Insert picture” dialog box appears.
Select WaterCycle.jpeg.	Let us now select Water Cycle.jpeg.
Point to Open but don’t click.	If we click on Open, the image will be embedded physically into our Draw file.
Point to Link check-box and click.	If we check the Link box here, then the image will be linked by the path.
Check the Link box at the bottom left of the window >> click Open >>	Let us click on Open.
A Message box appears.	A message appears saying that the image will only be stored as a link.
Click Keep Link.	Click Keep Link.
	The picture is inserted as a link in the Draw file.
	Links can also be removed easily.
Main menu >> select Edit >> click Link	Go to the Main menu, select Edit and then click Link.
Edit Links dialog box appears.	The “Edit Links” dialog box appears. This dialog box lists all the links in the Draw file.
Select the link of the picture WaterCycle.	Click on the link for the picture WaterCycle.
Click Break Link. In the confirmation message >> Click Yes.	Click “Break Link”. Draw will display a confirmation message. Click Yes.
The Link is removed. Click Close.	The Link is removed. Now, click on the Close button.
Point to the picture.	But you will notice that the picture is still present in the file. When you break a link, the picture is automatically embedded in the Draw file.
Select the picture. Click the delete button from the keyboard.	Let’s delete this picture now. Select the picture, and press the Delete button.

	Next, let’s import the WaterCycle diagram directly into this file as a Draw image.
From the Main menu, click insert >> select File.	From the Main menu, click Insert and select File.
Point to the Insert File dialog box.	The Insert File dialog box opens.
Select the Draw file WaterCycle.odg	From the list, select the Draw file WaterCycle.odg
Click Open.	Click Open.
The Insert slides/objects dialog box appears.	The Insert slides/objects dialog box appears.
Click on the plus next to the file path. You will see a list of the slides.	Click on the plus sign next to the file path. You will see a list of the slides.
Select slide one Water Cycle diagram.	Let us select slide one with the WaterCycle diagram.
	You can also insert the page or the object as a link.
Show the pointer to the Link option. Do not check the box.	To do this, simply click the Link check box.
Click OK.	Click OK.
A confirmation dialog box appears.	A confirmation dialog box appears, asking if the objects should be fit to the new format.
Click Yes.	Click Yes.
	The slide is inserted into the file in a new page.
	Next we shall learn to export images from Draw.

Minimize the RouteMap draw file.	Let’s minimize the RouteMap file.
Point to WaterCycle.jpeg on the Desktop	Did you wonder how we converted the Draw WaterCycle diagram to the JPEG format? Let me demonstrate how it was done.
Open the file WaterCycle.	Open the file WaterCycle.
From the Pages panel, select the page with the WaterCycle diagram.	Then, from the Pages panel, select the page with the WaterCycle diagram.
From the Main menu, click File >> Export	From the Main menu, click File and select Export.
Export dialog box appears.	The “Export” dialog box appears.
File Name >> Enter the name “WaterCycleDiagram”	Let us enter the name “WaterCycleDiagram” in Filename field.
From the Places pane browse and select Desktop.	From the Places panel, browse and select Desktop.
In the File type field select the option JPEG.	In the File type field, we will select the option JPEG. But you can save the Draw file in any format you want.
Check the Selection check box.	Check the Selection check box.
Click Save.	Click Save.
	The JPEG Options dialog box appears. Let’s keep the default options that are selected in this dialog box.
Click OK.	Click OK.
Go to the desktop, point to the saved file.	The Draw page with the WaterCycle diagram is saved as a JPEG on the Desktop. <Pause>
Double click and open it. Then close it.	Here only one page from the Draw file is converted to JPEG file.
	If you save in PDF, Flash or HTML formats, then all the pages in the Draw file will be exported.
	We can also edit raster images in Draw.
Switch to Draw WaterCycle file. From the Main menu >> Point to Format.	Raster images can be formatted using the Format menu. You can also use the Picture toolbar to edit these pictures.
