| Recap visual from previous tutorial | In the last tutorial, we saw that failure is not the end of learning.
Even a mistake helps the brain grow stronger. |
| College corridor – morning | Let's begin.
It was a bright morning at college. Tara, a neuroscience student, walked into her lab. She usually enjoys science experiments, but that day it was different. |
| Science lab animation – classmates working | Everyone was working on an experiment to measure neural signals.
Tara was trying to get her readings right, but nothing seemed to work. |
| Tara frowning, hesitant to ask | She wanted to ask for help, but stopped.
"What if they think I'm not good at this?" she wondered. She decided to stay quiet and pretend everything was fine. |
| Canteen scene | That evening, Tara was sitting alone in the canteen, looking sad.
Rahul walked in, cheerful after submitting his statistics assignment. |
| Rahul approaches Tara | "Hey Tara, you look upset. What's wrong?" he asked.
Tara sighed, "I couldn't get my experiment right today. I was so embarrassed to ask for help. What if my friends thought I was not good enough?" |
| Rahul smiling knowingly | Rahul smiled and said,
"You sound exactly like me from a few months ago!" Tara rolled her eyes and said. "Don't remind me of your struggle," She recalled what she had told Rahul; that failure is not the end. And every mistake helps the brain grow stronger. |
| Flashback of Rahul's cricket practice | Rahul smiled and said.
"Actually, I want to tell you what helped me last week." "You know how I kept missing the ball during cricket practice?" "I almost gave up." |
| Rahul recalling | "Then I remembered your words that our brain grows when we practice.
I told myself, "I'm not getting it yet". That word "yet" changed everything." |
| Rahul standing and remembering | "It reminded me that learning takes time.
I stopped feeling bad about not knowing and started learning again." |
| Rahul with teammates | "I even asked my teammates for help.
I realized everyone had struggled at first. We practiced together. Now my timing is much better." |
| Tara listening carefully | Tara listened carefully.
"So you mean it's not that I can't do it. It's just that I can't do it yet?" |
| Rahul nodding | "Exactly!" Rahul replied.
"You helped me believe that my brain can grow. Now it's your turn to believe the same." |
| Tara in science lab next day | The next day, Tara returned to the lab with confidence.
She walked up to her classmate and said, "I don't get this yet. Can you help me understand?" |
| Tara and her classmate working together | They worked together patiently.
Slowly, Tara started to understand what she was not doing properly. |
| Evening campus scene – Rahul and Tara under a tree | That evening, Rahul and Tara sat under a tree, talking about their day. |
| Close-up of Tara | Tara gently said, " Rahul, I used to think asking for help made me look weak.
But now I realized that asking for help also helps us grow." |
| Recap | Let's recap what we learnt.
• The word yet turns "I can't learn" into "I can learn." • Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. • With practice, our brain keeps growing. |
| Assignment
• Think of one skill or subject you've struggled with • Draw two columns on a page • In the first column, write what you can't do yet • Identify what went wrong and what you learnt • In the second column, write the steps you'll take to improve • Share your thoughts and emotions with a friend or classmate • Remember to use the word yet when you talk about your learning journey |
Here's an activity for you. |
