To record this tutorial, I am using
  • Windows 11 Pro operating system
  • Firefox web browser and
  • A working internet connection.

Prerequisite

To follow this tutorial, learners should have a system with:
  • An i3 processor or higher,
  • Minimum 4 GB RAM,
  • At least 50 GB of free hard disk space,
  • Virtualization enabled in BIOS, and
  • A 64-bit system.


This ensures, VirtualBox works smoothly.

Click on the Firefox web browser icon on the Windows taskbar. I will click on the Firefox web browser icon on the Windows taskbar.

The Firefox web browser page opens.

In the address bar, type this URL and press Enter key.

Click on Windows hostsPoint downloading file.

Download VirtualBox page opens.

Let us go to the VirtualBox Platform Packages and click on the Windows hosts.

Notice that the exe file is getting downloaded.

clickSelect Task Manager

Click PerformanceHighlight Virtualisation

Now, I will go to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

Let me right-click on it and select Task Manager.

Task Manager window opens.

From the left panel I will click on the Performance tab.

Look at the bottom right corner.

It says Virtualisation is Enabled.

If it is not enabled, kindly enable it in BIOS settings.

Since BIOS settings vary across systems, this step is not demonstrated.


If required, seek help from a system administrator.

If the option Virtualization is not available in the BIOS, VirtualBox cannot install in that machine.


In my case, it is already enabled.

Let us close the Taskbar by clicking on the x icon at the top right corner.

Locate the file VirtualBox hyphen 7 point 2 point 4 point exe.

Right click on exe file

Click Run as administratorUser Account Control window appears.

Click Yes

Let us right-click on the VirtualBox executable file.


Select Run as administrator.The User Account Control window appears.

I will click Yes to continue.

select I accept the terms of the license agreement

Click NextCursor on Custom SetupClick Next

Oracle VirtualBox 7.2.4 Installer Window opens.

Click the Next button to continue.

License Agreement window appears.


Let’s click on the radio button for I accept the terms of the license agreement.

Click the Next button to continue.

In the Custom Setup we will not change anything.

Click the Next button to continue.

Click YesCursor on Custom Setup

Click NextCursor on Ready to Install

click on Install button.

Cursor on Oracle VirtualBox 7.2.4 has been installed.

Click Finish.Cursor on VirtualBox icon.

Double click on the icon.

A Warning Network Disconnection window appears.

Please read the warning carefully and click on the Yes button.


Custom Setup-Select the features to install window appears.


In this window all the check boxes are checked by default.


We will leave them as such, click Next the button.

Ready to Install window is displayed, click on the Install button.

The installation begins, it may take some time to process.

A window appears indicating that Oracle VirtualBox 7.2.4 has been installed.

Please ensure the Start Oracle VirtualBox 7.2.4 check box is checked.

Click on the Finish button.

Now we can see the VirtualBox icon on the Desktop, double click on it.

Oracle VirtualBox Manager opens successfully.
