Open Inkscape | I have opened the Creating Vector Portrait Illustration.svg file.

Canvas >> Select the drawn shape of the lips >>
Fill and Stroke window>> Select Pick colors from image tool >> Canvas |
Go to the Canvas.
and click on Pick colors from image tool icon.
Similarly, Select the each drawn shape individually.
|
Point to the reference image. | Zoom in the canvas for accuracy while picking and filling colors.
Choosing fresh colors will elevate the drawing and also add vibrancy to it.

Canvas >> Bezier tool.
>> Canvas>> Fill and Stroke >>Opacity |
Select the entire drawing and reduce the Opacity.
Highlights give a realistic look to it.
and fill colors in the drawn shapes as shown.

Canvas>>
Select all parts of the drawing >> Stroke paint>> Click on No paint>> Canvas>> point towards the gap. |

Canvas | After setting the opacity to 100, the shadow and light parts appear darker.

Layers panel | Let us go to Layers panel.
|
Point to the Canvas. | Let us now make the illustration more attractive.

Path>> Click on Combine
>> Edit >> Click on Cut >> Edit >> Click on Paste In Place |
Click on Combine in the Path menu.

Go to the Layers panel.
Let us create a new layer and name it as ‘Background’.
Select the Rectangle tool.

Layers panel>> Arrange the Outline
Layer >> Path>> Click on Outset
|
Let's go to the Layers panel,
Linux and Windows users can press Ctrl key and opening parenthesis(")") key to increase the value.
To do this, Go to the Toolbar and click on Edit paths by nodes. Select the unwanted nodes by dragging over them on the Canvas. Press Delete on your keyboard to remove the selected nodes. |
Canvas >> Point to the illustration>>
Layers panel>> hide the duplicated reference image by clicking on the eye icon of the reference image layer. |
The beautiful portrait illustration of the photo is completed.
