  • Ubuntu Linux OS v22.04
  • Koha v24.05
  • Firefox v131.0.3
  • A working internet connection.
To record this tutorial, I am using;
  • Ubuntu Linux OS version 22 point 04
  • Koha version 24 point 05
  • Firefox version 131 point 0 point 3

I also have a working internet connection.

Pre-requisites

To follow this tutorial, you should have
  • Koha installed on your system and
  • Admin access in Koha.

If not, refer to the Koha Installation tutorial on this site.

Also, you should have knowledge of Library Science.

Show Koha login interface

Open the Firefox browser and in the address bar type 127 dot 0 dot 0 dot 0 colon 8080.

Let us switch to the Koha log in interface.
Log into Koha with Username as Bella and Password as Library@1 So, I will type the username as Bella and the password as Library@1.

If you had given a different username and password, then type that.

To choose the Library, from the drop down select Spoken Tutorial Library.

Point to the main page. Now click on the log in button to open the Koha main page.
Let us now go ahead to make some changes in the library details.
Koha administration >> Basic parameters>> Libraries For that, click on the Koha administration module.

Now, on the Koha administration page, under Basic parameters click on Libraries.

Show the window being resized

Scroll the mouse up and down or sideways

Highlight the Spoken Tutorial Library.

Highlight Action column

Highlight the Edit and Delete tabs

Libraries page opens.

On this page, we can see the list of libraries.

To see the full page you may have to maximize or zoom out the window.

Or simply scroll the mouse up and down or sideways to view the details.

We will edit the details for the Spoken Tutorial Library.

Here we can see the details for the Spoken Tutorial Library.

Notice that Actions column has two options here:

  • Edit and
  • Delete
Cursor on Action>Edit

Modify library ‘ST’ opens

To modify the details, let us click on the Edit button.

This will open the Modify library ’ST’ page.

Highlight
  • Address line 1: IIT Bombay
  • Address line 2: Near Main Building
  • Address line 3: Powai
On this page, we will modify the ST Library address.

Fill in the address as shown here.

Highlight OPAC info:Add HTML content Now scroll down to the OPAC info:Add HTML content field.
Highlight OPAC info : Add HTML content To fill OPAC Info, right-click on Add HTML content.

Select Open Link in New Tab.

Highlight New HTML customization new tab A new tab opens with the title New HTML customization.
In OPAC info:

Fill the following-

Display Location: OpacLibrary Info

Library: Spoken Tutorial Library

This is where we have to fill in information about our library.

For Display Location, from drop-down select OpacLibraryInfo.

For Library, from drop-down select Spoken Tutorial Library.

I will leave,

  • Publication date,
  • expiry date and
  • Appear in position

fields blank as they are not mandatory.

Title: Spoken Tutorial Library

Content: Spoken Tutorial Library is Digital open access library.

The mission of the Library is to provide information services.

I will further scroll down and fill in the details.

Pause the video and fill in the details as shown here.

Click Save Now click on Save at the top left of the page to store the OPAC info.
Highlight Additional content: HTML customizations

Highlight the Spoken Tutorial Library row

Click on preview content

This will bring us back to Additional content: HTML customizations page.

Here we can see the details we have filled.

To preview the content go to the column News and click on preview content.

A popup page opens with Preview of: “Spoken Tutorial Library”.

It displays the details we had filled in the Content field earlier.

Click on the close button To close this window, click on the close button.
Highlight Additional content: HTML customizations This will bring us back to Additional content: HTML customizations page.

Now close this HTML customizations, Additional content, Tools, Koha tab.

Modify Library ‘ST’ page open.

Highlight Address

This brings us back to the Modify Library ‘ST’ page.

Now scroll down the page and click on Submit button.

This brings us back to the Libraries page.

Here we can see the library Address is modified successfully.

We also see a message in the blue highlight Library updated successfully.

Libraries page With this, we come to the end of this tutorial.
Logout To continue with the next tutorial, go to the top left corner of the page.

Click on the home icon and stay logged in.

To logout from the current session, go to the top right corner of the page.

Click on Bella, Spoken Tutorial Library.

From the drop down select Logout.
