Point to the 4 tabs in the Workspace. | LibreOffice Impress has many View options that help to create a good presentation. |
Point to the tab Normal Tab.

This is the Normal view.
|
Narration only: | Let’s learn how to change the design of the slides. |
Click on the slide titled “Overview”
|
Click on the slide titled Overview in the Slides Pane.
|
Point to the Recently Used. Point to the Available for Use. |
Under Master Slides, there are 3 sections.
Recently Used and Available for Use. |
Point to the Used in This presentation.
|
The slide design used in this particular presentation is seen in Used in This presentation.

Click on Classy Red slide design in Available for Use section |
From the Available for Use section, select any slide design of your choice.
I’m selecting the Classy Red slide design. |
Point to the slide in the Workspace.

Notice the change in the design of the slide in the Workspace.
|
Click on the ‘X’ on the top right corner. | Close the Master Slides section by clicking on the ‘X’ on the top right corner. |
Narration only: | Next, we will see the Outline view. |
Click on the Outline tab.

Click on the Outline tab in the Workspace.
Then click on the Outline option. |
Point to the Workspace.
Point to the Slide Heading next to the thumbnail. |
In the Outline view, all slides are arranged one below the other just like a Table of Contents.
And the slide Heading appears next to the thumbnail. |
Point to the “Overview” slide heading.

Notice that the Overview slide heading is highlighted.
That indicates we were on the Overview slide when we selected the Outline tab. |
Point to the black dots.
Hover the mouse over the bullet point. |
Notice these black dots before each sentence in the form of bullet points.
When you hover the mouse over these bullet points, the cursor turns into a hand. |
Narration only:
Select the line item “Explain the long term course to follow”. |
Let’s learn how to move a line item up or down to rearrange them within a slide.

Go to the Formatting bar
|
Go to the Formatting bar at the top left.
|
Go to the Formatting bar.
|
Again go to the Formatting bar at the top left.
|
Narration only: | We can also move selected line items across slides. |
Go to the Formatting bar -> Down arrow icon
|
In the Formatting bar, once again click on the Down arrow icon.
|
CTRL+Z till the presentation looks like the original.
|
Let us undo these changes by pressing CTRL + Z keys.
|
Narration only: | Next, we will use the Slide Sorter view to rearrange the slides. |
Click on the Slide Sorter tab.
|
Click on the Slide Sorter tab in the Workspace.
Then click on the Slide Sorter option. |
Narration only | This view is useful to sort the slides in the desired order. |
Click on slide number 3 -> drag the slide number 3 before slide number 2.

Click on slide number 3 and drag the slide before slide number 2
Now click anywhere in the Slide Sorter view.

Ctrl+Z once | Let us undo these changes also. |
Narration only: | Next, we will see the Notes view. |
Click on the Notes tab.
|
Click on the Notes tab in the Workspace.
Then click on the Notes option. |
Point to “Click to add Notes” textbox. | In the Notes view, we can write notes that will help us during our presentation. |
Click on the “Click to add Notes” textbox.
|
Click on the “Click to add Notes” textbox below the slide on the Workspace.
Now click anywhere outside the textbox. |

When our slides are viewed on a projector,
|
Click on the Normal tab. | Now let’s click on the Normal tab again. |
Narration only:
Click on the View -> Sidebar.
Point to the Sidebar on the right hand side. |
We can either show or hide the Sidebar on the right-hand side of Impress window.
Then check or uncheck the Sidebar option.

Narration only: | Next, let’s learn how to change the layout of a slide. |
Click on the Properties -> Layout.
|
Click on the Properties section from the Sidebar and then go to the Layouts property.

Close the Properties section | |
Go to the Standard Toolbar -> Slide Layout icon drop-down.
|
Alternatively, click on the Slide Layout icon drop-down in Standard Toolbar.
By clicking on any of the layouts, you can change the layout of the slide. |
Go to the Standard toolbar -> Save.
|
Let us save all the changes we made in our presentation by clicking on the Save icon.
