00:07 | My name is Kannan Moudgalya. |

00:16 | We will see: * how to check the status of tickets |
00:22 | * How to print a ticket |
00:25 | * How to cancel a ticket |
00:27 | * How to see the history of cancellation and * an automated Email of refund. |
00:35 | There are private websites for train ticket booking. |
00:39 | We will see the few popular websites. |
00:43 | We will compare them with IRCTC. |
00:48 | We will now see the past bookings at IRCTC. Let me login to irctc website. |
01:13 | Let me scroll down. |
01:15 | Let me click the transactions link and you have booked history. |

01:38 | It says what is the PNR Number. |
01:44 | List of tickets is given here. |
01:46 | Let me click this and get PNR status. It says that Wait Listed , 162. |
01:57 | Let me close this. I can take a printout , press this. |
02:07 | In this, now if I say Print it will go out and print it. |
02:12 | I have returned to the slides. Let us go to the next slide . |
02:17 | We will now see how to cancel a ticket. |
02:21 | Suppose I want to cancel this ticket, what do I do? |
02:24 | So let's cancel this ticket. |
02:41 | okay, So I want to cancel this, let me select this . |
02:44 | I don't want this ticket. |
02:55 | It says Select for Cancel. The reason why you have to select is that sometimes you may book the ticket for more than 1 person to travel. |
03:07 | It is possible to cancel partially. Suppose 2 people travel and you want to cancel the ticket of only one person, |
03:15 | you check the box of only that person . So let's click this and then Cancel the ticket. |
03:22 | Now it says Are you sure you want to cancel the e-ticket? I say OK. |
03:33 | Okay. It says that Cancellation Status Details. It says Cash Deducted 20 rupees. |
03:39 | Cash paid Rs.89. Actually I paid 10 rupees for the online services. |
03:45 | Cash deducted 20 rupees. |
03:47 | I got the cash refunded of rupees 69 and note that it will be paid to the account from which the money came originally. |
03:57 | If you want I can take a printout. |
04:01 | I can go back to the History. I have returned to the slide. |

04:31 | Press Go. |
04:35 | It says that The history for the canceled PNR will be available following the day of cancellation. Alright. |
04:47 | But it seems to show it immediately here. So, all the cancelled tickets will be listed here. |
04:54 | I have returned to the slides. |
04:56 | Let us go to the next slide . |
04:59 | I will now show an Automated Email of refund. |

05:21 | I have returned to the slides. Let us go to the next slide. |
05:26 | There are some useful private websites for train booking. |
05:30 | We will see them now. |
05:38 | I have already opened "Clear trip" . |
05:41 | Let me show you the "make my trip" page. |
05:48 | Let us see the web page of "Yatra.com" . |
05:52 | Let us go back to the slides. Let me go to the the next slide. |
05:58 | We will now compare IRCTC with Private website . |
06:03 | What are the advantages of irctc ? |
06:06 | * Not all trains are listed in private websites. |
06:10 | * Private websites are more expensive- about Rs. 20. |
06:16 | * Private websites open late in the morning. |
06:19 | * Only a shorter time interval is available on private websites. When irctc was opening at 8 am, private websites open at 10 am. for e.g. |
06:29 | We will now see the advantages of private websites: |
06:36 | * Sometimes private websites are faster than irctc . |
06:42 | * The private websites help book flights and also buses. As a result, |
06:47 | * all travel information can be maintained in one place. |
06:52 | * Private websites may also remember previous searches. |
06:58 | Personally in my case, I use both irctc and private website. |
07:05 | I want to say a few words on the spoken tutorial project. |
07:09 | Watch the video available at- http://spoken-tutorial.org/what_is_ spoken_tutorial. |
