| System requirement (Slide) | To record this tutorial, I am using-

| Open Inkscape | Let us open Inkscape. |
| Go to File >> Document properties | Click on File and then on Document properties. |
| Change width & height to 425 and point to px in Units. | Change the Width and Height parameters to 425 pixels.

| Draw a square >> width and height to 425 | Create a square using the Rectangle tool. Color it red. |
| Click on selector tool. | Now click on the selector tool. |
| On the Tool controls menu, change the Width and Height parameters to 425. | |
| Draw a circle >> width and height to 425 | Next, draw a circle using the Ellipse tool. |
| Click on selector tool. | Once again, click on the selector tool. |
| On the Tool controls menu, change the Width and Height parameters to 425. | |
| Select circle and square >> Align and Distribute. | Select both the circle and the square. |
| Click on Object menu >> Align and Distribute | Go to Object menu.
Click on Align and Distribute. |
| Align in centre | Set the Relative to option to Page.

| Path menu >> Difference | Go to Path menu. Select Difference. |
| Draw another circle | Now draw another circle. |
| Click selector tool. | Once again, click on the selector tool. |
| Change width and height to 85 >>
align in centre |
Change the height and width parameters to 85.
|
| Select both shapes >> Color it white | Select both the shapes.
|
| Layers menu >> Layers >> layer name to CD template | Go to Layers menu and click on Layers.
|
| Lock CD template layer | Lock the layer to avoid the movement of the elements in the layer, by mistake.
|
| Create another layer >> CD design | Now, let us create another layer and name it as CD design. |
| Choose below current layer option. | Place it below the CD template layer. |
| Point to the canvas | Now our CD template is ready.
|
| File >> Save as | Let us save our SVG file.
|
| Filename >> CD template >> Save | I will save it on the Desktop.
|
| Point to the layers | Now we will work on the CD design layer. |
| Draw a square >>
|
Let us design a background.
|
| Change width and height to 425 | Click on the selector tool.
|
| Place it | Place it in such a manner that you can see the background color within the boundaries. |
| Design a graphic illustration | Let us now design a graphic illustration. |
| Import Spoken Tutorial logo | Next, let us import the Spoken tutorial logo.
|
| Go to File >> Import | Go to File and click on Import.
|
| Type Spoken Tutorial logo >> Font size to 40 | Type Spoken Tutorial to the right of the logo.
|
| Type “Partner with us...help bridge the digital divide” | Type “Partner with us...help bridge the digital divide” on the next line.
Change the font size to 25. |
| Point to the bottom area | I will type the contact details at the bottom of the CD label. |
| Copy and paste the contact details | Let me copy the contact details from a LibreOffice Writer file that I had saved earlier.

| Align them | Align them using the Text and font and Align and Distribute options.

| Point to the right side area of the CD label >>

Next, we will add some images on the right of the CD label.
|
| Show images | The same image has been provided in your Code Files link.
|
| File >> Import >> Image1 | Now click on File then on Import and lastly select Image1.
|
| Place it on the right side | I will place it on the right side of the CD label.
|
| File >> Save As
|
Let us save the SVG file by clicking on File and Save As.
|
| Point to the CD label | Now our CD label is ready.
|
| File >> Export Bitmap | Go to File and click on Export Bitmap.
|
| Page tab >> Export area | Click on Page tab under the Export area.
Then click on the Browse button. |
| Type ST CD label >> Save >> Export | I will choose Desktop as the location to save the file.
|
| Desktop >> Open ST CD label | Let us now go to the Desktop and check our file.
|
| Summarize | Let us summarize.
|
| Assignment | Create a CD label for Inkscape. |
| Completed assignment | Your completed assignment should look like this. |
