The fifth character of the PAN is
(a) the first character of the surname / last name of the person, in the case of a "Personal" PAN card

Use Image 1 here | (b) the name of the Entity/ Trust/ Society/ Organization in the case of Company/ HUF/ Firm or any other types of PAN Cards. In the image shown, the name of the trust is Shanoz. Therefore, the 5th character is S. |
