Open browser >> http://aakashlabs.org/abt/ | Open the web browser and go to this URL- |
Point to the download link | Click on the download link |
Switch to the Downloads folder | ABT_window_installer.zip file will get downloaded in your Downloads folder. |
Extract downloaded ABT_window_installer.zip file | I have already downloaded ABT_window_installer.zip zip file on my Windows machine.
I will now extract the contents of this zip file. |
Go to the folder ABT_window_installer and select files one by one

Let me open this folder ABT_window_installer.
You can see the following files- resources abt_autostart.bat abt_setup.exe README |
Point to resources | Resources includes all the dependencies required for ABT. |
Point to abt_autostart.bat | abt_autostart.bat file is used to restart backend of ABT on startup of machine. |
Point to abt_setup.exe | The abt_setup executable file installs all the dependencies required for ABT. |
Point to README | README file contains the documentation for ABT on Windows. |
Let’s begin the installation now. | |
Double-click on abt_setup.exe file. | Double-click on abt_setup.exe file.

Click on Next . | Click on Next . |
Click on Install. | Click on Install.
It will show a message Preparing to install. |
Click on Next. | We will install Python 2.7.3 for all users.
Click on Next. |
Change the path to C:\ABT\Python27\
Click on Next. |
We will change the path to C:\ABT\Python27\
Click on Next. |
Click on Finish. | Python 2.7.3 will be installed.
Click on Finish. |
Click on Next.
Click on Finish. |
Now, we will install Twisted-13.2.0
Click Next wherever required.
Click on Finish. |
Click on Next.
Click on Finish. |
Now, we will install zope.interface-4.0.5
Click Next wherever required.
Click on Finish. |
Click on I accept the agreement radio button
Click on Next. Change path to C:\ABT\GnuWin32 Click on Finish. |
Now we will install CoreUtils
Click on Next. Then click on I accept the agreement radio button. Click Next and Install. Change path to C:\ABT\GnuWin32
Click on Finish. |
Click on Next.
Click on Finish. |
Next, we will install python-dateutil-2.2
Click Next wherever required.
Click on Finish. |
Click on Next.
Click on Finish. |
Now we will install setuptools
Click Next wherever required.
Click on Finish. |
Click on Next.
Click on Finish. |
Now we will install six-1.7.3
Click Next wherever required.
Click on Finish. |
Click I Agree
Click on Install Click on Next. Click on Finish. |
Now we will install sqlalchemy.
Click on Next .
Click on Install . Click on Next.
Click on Finish |
Click on Ok
Change the path to C:\ABT\Genymotion Click on Next. Click on Install Click on Finish. |
Now we will install Genymotion
Click on Ok for default language, ie English. Click on Next.
Click Next wherever required. Click on Install
Click on Finish. |
Browse and go to C:\ABT\Oracle\VirtualBox\
Click on Next. Click on Yes Click on Install. Click on Finish.

Now we will install VirtualBox
Click on Next. Browse and go to C:\ABT\Oracle\VirtualBox\ Click Next wherever required. Click on Yes to proceed with installation. In Windows Security dialog box, check ‘Always trust Software from Oracle Corporation’ checkBox. Click Install and Finish. |
Point to the virtual device | Genymotion and VirtualBox has been successfully installed. |
Point to genymotion | Genymotion will be launched. |
Point to the message You have no virtual device available yet. Do you want to add a new one?
Click on Yes. |
The following message appears on the screen-
You have no virtual device available yet. Do you want to add a new one?

Click on Connect | In the new window that appears, click on Connect. |
Slide 4 | You can enter Username and Password to connect to Genymotion cloud.
This will authenticate the user. |
Point to the new window | After this, a new window appears to create a new virtual device. |
Select Custom Phone 7”-4.4.4-API17-1024*600
Click on Next. |
Select any one of the available virtual devices.
I will select this option from the available virtual devices. Click on Next. |
Change device name to ABT.
Click on Next. |
Change device name to ABT.
Again, click on Next. |
It will start deploying genymotion virtual device.
This may take some time. | |
Click the Finish button | Click the Finish button to close the deployment window. |
Click the Play button | Now, click the Play button to start your newly created virtual device. |
Point to the virtual device | We can view the loaded virtual device here. |

Don’t close the launched virtual device. |
Now let’s proceed to install ABT on genymotion. | |
Press Windows key+R
Type cmd in the prompt and click on Ok.

Open the command prompt by pressing Windows key and the R key on the keyboard.
Type cmd and click on Ok. |
Go to the path where apk file is located.
Type cd C:\ABT |
We will now install the front end of ABT.
Go to the path where apk file is located. Type cd C:\ABT |
Type
adb -e install ABT.apk |
Now type
adb -e install ABT.apk |
We have successfully installed ABT on a Windows machine, through a virtual device genymotion.
In subsequent tutorials, we will learn how to work with ABT. | |
Slide 6 | Now, we will learn some important features of ABT on Desktop.
The features are-
Note: Here files will be saved on the system. |
Open Ledger report | I have already created a sample organization called TK Group.
I will open a Ledger report now. And I will view the ledger report for Sbi account. |
Point to the top right corner >> click on Options button | In the report, on the top right corner, I will click on Options button.
It will give me 2 options:

Choose Export as PDF | I will choose Export as PDF option. |
Select No. | I don’t want to set password for file security.
So I will select No. |
Click on Save file. | Click on Save file button.
A folder named ABT_PDF will get created automatically in C:\ABT\abt\ABT_PDF |
Point to the folder ABT_PDF | All the pdf files generated will be saved in this ABT_PDF folder. |
Point to the folder ABT_CSV | Likewise, the csv files generated will be saved in C:\ABT\abt\ABT_CSV |
Now, we will learn how to import and export an organization. | |
Click on Export Organization option >>
Click on Yes. |
First let’s learn how to export an organization.
Click on Export Organization option and then click on Yes. |
Point to export folder | This will create a folder named export in C:\ABT\abt\export
All the exported organizations will be saved in this folder. |
These organizations can be imported on any other Windows machine, on which ABT is installed.
We just need to transfer the export folder to C:\ABT\abt\export of the other Windows machine. | |

Go to the welcome screen of ABT | Next, we will learn how to import an organization.
For that, we will go to the Welcome screen of ABT. |
Point to Import Organization option on the sliding drawer on the left. | We can see the Import Organization option on the sliding drawer, on the left. |
Click on Import Organization. | Click on Import Organization.
We can import only those organizations which are present in the export folder. |
Click on Import >> click on Exit. | Click on Import and then click on Exit.

Note: | To use ABT later, just click on genymotion's shortcut present on the Desktop.
