To record this tutorial, I am using
  • Ubuntu Linux OS version 22 point 04
  • Koha version 24 point 05
  • Firefox version 131 point 0 point 3

I also have a working internet connection.

Pre-requisites

To follow this tutorial, you should have
  • Koha installed on your system and
  • Admin access in Koha.

If not, refer to the Koha Installation tutorial on this site.

Also, you should have knowledge of Library Science.

Show Koha login interface Let us switch to the Koha interface.
Login as a

Library Staff: Vaibhavi

Now, login as Library Staff, Vaibhavi
Username: Vaibhavi

Password: Vaibhavi02

Enter

Username as Vaibhavi and

Password as Vaibhavi02

To choose the library from the drop down select Spoken Tutorial Library

And, click on login.

Staff interface, click on the Circulation module The Koha staff interface opens.

Click on Circulation module

Narration only Now, let us begin with Checkout.
On Circulation page
  • Click on Check-out
  • In the field for- Enter patron card number or partial name
  • Enter the name as Maya and press search field.
On the Circulation page:
  • Click on Check-out i.e. the issuing process.
  • Checkouts page opens.
  • Go to the top bar.
  • Notice the Check out search bar.
  • Here we can Enter patron card number or partial name.
  • I will type the name as Maya.
  • To begin the search I will click on the arrow here.
In the field for: Checking out to Maya Hans (3)

Enter item Barcode:

Enter the value- 00002

A new page opens up.

In the field for: Checking out to Maya Hans (3) Enter item Barcode:

I will enter the value- 00002

Click on Check-out at the right side of the field.

Click on Show Check-out.

Now, click on Check-out.

To see the Check-out details, I will click on Show check-outs at the bottom of the page.

On the same page a table appears with all the details of the Checked-out item.

  • Renew

Cursor on Renew and check in selected items Notice the tab Renew and check in selected items located at the bottom of the table.

It is used in case an item has to be renewed or checked in.

Cursor on Renew all If there are more than one item then click on the tab Renew all at the bottom of the page.
Narration only Now let us see how to Check in an item.
Click on Circulation Click on Circulation at the top left corner.
Click on check in On the new page that opens, under Circulation, click on check in.
Cursor on Enter item barcode:

Enter barcode 00002

In the new page that opens, locate the field Enter item barcode .

I will enter Barcode as accession number

Click on check in Click on Check-in on the right side of the field.

A table appears having details such as-
