Open the FreeCAD interface. | I have opened the FreeCAD interface. |
Click on File, New. | To create a new exercise, click on File, New. |
Cursor on Workbench.
For the workbench option, select Draft workbench. |
The Workbench option on the top shows start.
|
Show the changed interface. | The interface menu options change. |
Go to View, Toolbars in the menu. | Go to View then Toolbars in the menu. |
Cursor on the options. Uncheck and check a box. | Make sure that all the tool bar options are enabled in the list.

Cursor on Macro. | Macro option allows the user to write and install own features. |

All menu buttons may not be seen on the top as in the video.

Click on Edit, Preferences. | Now click on Edit, Preferences. |

For the unit system, choose Standard. | From here you can change the unit system that you desire.

Go to General setting tab.

In the General setting tab, make sure the default working plane is selected.

The yellow colored menu tools are Draft creation tools. | Internal precision level can be changed based on user preference.

Click on Grid and snapping tab. | Now go to Grid and snapping tab. |
Uncheck first 4 (Use grid, Always use grid, show grid border, show human figure). | I will uncheck the Grid options as seen here for ease of drawing later on. |
Click on Apply and then on Ok. | Click on Apply to accept the changes and then on OK to close the window. |
Click on View >> Panels.

Now click on View, then on Panels.

Cursor on the Report View window. | Stepwise procedure and any bugs will be shown here by FreeCAD. |

Click on the cube.

Select orhographic. | For now I will select Orthographic.
I will also select top view.

Click on the Snap ortho icon.

First click on the Snap ortho tool.

Cursor on Draft creation tools. | Now let’s draw a Line on the canvas. |
Cursor on the tooltips of snap tool icons. | Snap tools aid the user in selecting specific points on an object.

Click to enable/disable Lock icon. | Make sure that the Lock icon is disabled. |

Now the Report view panel prompts the user to pick the first point. |
Click on the Line icon. | The options in the Draft creation tools can be used to choose Line. |

Left click on the canvas, hold and drag to draw a line.

Place the cursor close to the end of the first line. | Now place the cursor close to the end of the first line.

Cursor at the end of the line. | Now the snap tool will snap the new line to this point. |
Click on File, save. | To save the file, click on File, Save. |

Now two line objects can be seen in the list.
To select an object click on it and notice the green outline.

Cursor on Draft modification tool. | Next, we will use Draft modification tools. |
Select line.

To move the object, first click on the 4 direction arrow. |
Cursor in combo view panel. drag down a little to see during recording. Highlight at editing.

Many parameters can be tracked during the move in the combo view panel.

Left click again. | Left click again to the desired location, to move the object. |
Select the line in the combo view window.
|
To make a copy of an object, first select it.
Click on the check box for Copy. |
Cursor on the new line object name and select it. | Notice the duplicated object name appears on the combo view panel.

Click on the move icon, place the cursor on the line.
|
Now select it and click on the Move tool.
|
Click on File, save or press Ctrl+S to save the file.
|
Save your work as needed.
