  • Working internet connection

  • MARC Edit 7.7 and,
  • A working internet connection.

  • You should have knowledge of Library Science
To practice this tutorial, you should have knowledge of Library Science.
Point to the shortcut icon on Desktop

Double click on MarcEdit 7.7

Let us open MarcEdit 7.7
Point to MarcEdit 7.7.35 By Terry Reese

Click on MarcEditor

A window MarcEdit 7.7.35 By Terry Reese opens.

Click on the MarcEditor option.

Point to MarcEditor

Click on File select Open

A MarcEditor window opens.

From the top menu, click on File, select Open from the dropdown.

Point to Open File

Select TestData file

Point to File name

Click on Open

Open File window appears, select the TestData file .

This file name will appear in the File name field.

At the bottom of the window click on the Open button.

Point to MarcEditor: TestData.mrk The file TestData.mrk opens in MarcEditor, displaying all the details.
Click on File select Compile File into MARC Now from the top menu, click on File select Compile File into MARC.
Point to Save File

In the File Name: field type TestData

The Save File window opens.

In the File Name field, type a desired name.

I will type TestData.

Point to MARC Files (*.mrc) By default system selects the Save as type field , as MARC Files.
Click on Save At the bottom of the window click on the Save button.
Point to finished The status shows Finished at the bottom of the MarcEditor window.
Narration only With this we have successfully converted the .mrk file into .mrc file.
