Point towards the CAD window Point to Log messages window |
We see the CAD model and log messages as the design is successful. |
Osdag:
Point towards the 3D CAD model |
Osdag provides a 3D CAD model for a better visualisation of the designed component. |
CAD window:
Press the left mouse button , move the mouse sideways |
Rotate the CAD model by pressing the left mouse button moving it sideways. |
Point to the model. | This allows us to view the model from any side in detail. |
CAD window:
Scroll the mouse wheel up two times |
Zoom in the CAD model by scrolling up the mouse wheel. |
CAD window:
Press the mouse wheel to see a 4 sided-arrow. Press and hold the mouse wheel, Drag the mouse to the right or left. |
Pan the CAD model by pressing the wheel on the mouse and moving it sideways. |
Point to the model. | This allows us to view each component of the model in detail. |
CAD window:
Press the mouse wheel to see a 4 sided- arrow. Press and hold the mouse wheel and Drag the mouse to the right or left. |
Again, press the wheel on the mouse and move it sideways to get back to the previous view. |
CAD window:
Scroll the mouse wheel down two times |
Similarly, zoom out the CAD model by scrolling down the mouse wheel. |
CAD window:
Point toward the global axis |
The orientation of the CAD model in the global axis can be noted from the reference axis below. |
CAD window:
Point toward the global axis at the bottom right corner. |
The X, Y and Z axis are marked and colour coded for a quick reference. |
Point toward the Front View, Side View and the Top View shortcut buttons | The 2D view shortcut buttons are present above the CAD window.
|
Click on the Front View button | To see the front view, click on the Front View shortcut button. |
Point to the view using the cursor. | We see the front view and it is oriented along the XZ direction of the global axis. |
Click on the Side View button | Now, to see the side view, click on the Side View shortcut button. |
Point to the view using the cursor. | We see the side view and it is oriented along the YZ direction of the global axis. |
Click on the Top View button | Similarly, to see the top view, click on the Top View shortcut button. |
Point to the view using the cursor. | We see the top view and it is oriented along the XY direction of the global axis. |
Point toward the Member, Plate and Endplate buttons. | We can isolate and view the individual components of the 3D CAD model.
|
Click on the Member button. | To isolate and view the member, click on the Member button. |
CAD window:
Point toward the CAD model |
We see an isolated CAD model of the member. |
Click on the Plate button | Now, to view the plate, click on the Plate button. |
CAD window:
Point toward the CAD model |
We see an isolated CAD model of the gusset and intermittent connection plates with bolts. |
Click on the Endplate button | Similarly, to view the end plate, click on the Endplate button. |
CAD window:
Point toward the CAD model |
We see an isolated CAD model of the gusset plate with bolts. |
Rotate, Pan and Zoom the component | We can Rotate , Pan or Zoom the individual components as well. |
Click on the Model button | I will click on the Model button to return to the default view of the model. |
Click on the Graphics menu | Alternately, we can perform all of the above actions using the Graphics menu. |
