In this tutorial, I am using

Start ABT
|
Select ABT application on Android 4.2
|
Point to Welcome page of ABT
|
On loading application, it has address of the server location such as,
- Emulator
- Tablet or
- Remote server
- Depending upon the connection,it automatically chooses one of the option.
|
Point to Tablet
|
- Tablet option is chosen automatically to run ABT on Android device.
|
Point to Emulator
|
- For Android developers, Emulator option to test app or modify ABT source code is chosen
|
Point to Remote server Location
|
- On selecting Remote server Location, enter IP address manually.
- It requires a live Internet connection & it can be within an Organization or an Institute.
- User can access a centralize remote server running within the Institute.
- The advantage is, each user will have his/her own account on the server.
|
|
- If the remote server doesn't have ABT installed in it, then it will generate an alert
- The alert will say to check IP or change server connection
|
|
There are some options on loading:
- Slide the sliding drawer to the right of the screen
- We will see three options on the left of the screen
- Import Organization,Change IP & Help
|

If we want to change the server location, we can choose this option

- We will learn about Import Organization in another tutorial

- Help tells us how to use ABT
|
Point to 2 buttons Create new organization and Select existing organization
|
On the first page, we will see 2 buttons at the top,
- Create new organization and
- Select existing organization
|

- The first step to get started in ABT is to create an organization
- To get started with the application, there should be at least one organization.
|
|
- Select Create new organization button
We will see 4 options here:
- Enter organization name
- Select organization type
- Select existing organization
- Financial year – Set from date & Set to date
|

- Type the name of organization say Free Accounting Foundation
|
Tap on dropdown of Select organization type
|
- Tap on dropdown of Select organization type
There are 2 organization types:
- NGO
- Profit Making
- I will select NGO as my option
|
Point to Financial year
|
- Specify the Set from date and Set to date
- ABT provides 1st April to 31st March as the predefined financial year
- User can change the from date and to date manually according to organization’s rules or requirements.
- Once the from date is set, to date gets automatically updated by 12 months and minus 1 day.
- Change the from and to dates by tapping on Set from date and Set to date respectively

- On this page, it says organization Free Accounting Foundation has been created successfully
- It also displays it's financial year
|
Select role
|
- We have to select role such as admin or guest.
- Guest user has a default username guest and password is also guest
|
Point to admin
|
- If we select admin, a new pop-up box will appear on the screen to sign up as an Admin.
- Save details and press done to continue for admin
- I shall choose guest as a role to login and press Login button
|
Point to next page
|
- On the next page, we have to fill organization details
- Fill the organization details if required else, press Skip button.
|
Point to State dropdown

- I will select Maharashtra from state dropdown
|
Point to Save button
|
- Press the Save button to save the organization details.
- Organization will get created by clicking either Save or Skip button.
- A message appears Organization Free Accounting Foundation with details saved successfully
|
Point to master menu
|
- Now we are on the master menu of ABT
- To logout press escape and press Yes for the confirm box
|
Point to welcome page
|
- We will be directed back to the welcome page of ABT
- Press Select existing organization button
- We will find the created organization in the Organization name list.
