To add a new library, we have to login as a superlibrarian.
So, I will type the username as Bella and the password as Library@1. From the library field drop down select Spoken Tutorial Library. Now click on Log in button. If you had given a different username and password, then type that. |
Show Koha staff Interface | The Koha staff interface opens. |

The Koha Administration page opens.
Now go to the Basic parameters section and click on Libraries. |
Click on tab + New Library | Libraries page opens.
Notice the table here displays the list of libraries that are already added. We can see the Spoken Tutorial Library listed here. Recall that we had created this library during koha onboarding. To add a new library, click on add New library tab on the top of the page. A page with a form to add a New library opens. |

Highlight Address and Phone | We can use the address and phone number to create custom library notices.
These details can also be used by the patron to contact the library. |
Highlight on Email id | We should fill in the Email field even though it is not mandatory.
It ensures that the notices are sent to and from the correct address. |

I will leave the Return-Path field blank.
This is the email where all the bounced messages will go. If left empty, all bounced messages will be sent by default to the main Email. |
Highlight on URL | Next, I will fill in the URL of the library as shown here.
On filling the URL field, the particular library name will be linked in the holdings table on the OPAC. |
Highlight Pickup location | Next, I will scroll down to the Pickup location field.
From the dropdown, I will select Yes. That means the library is an available pickup location for holds. It is the place from where the patrons can collect items they have reserved. |
Highlight Public dropdown>>Yes | Next, from the Public dropdown, select it to Yes.
Set to 'yes' to show this library as a search option and on the libraries page in the OPAC. |
Highlight Opening hours | Here, I am leaving Opening hours as it is.
These are used for hourly loans. |
Click on the Submit button | I will leave the other fields blank and click on the Submit button. |
Highlight Libraries
Highlight Success message Show the table and highlight the Central library. |
This will bring us back to the Libraries page.
The text highlighted in blue at the top says Library added successfully. So now we can see that Central Library is added to the list. |
