Let us now learn how to export the file as a PDF and also password protect our Draw file. | |
Switch to the file “Route Map”.
Main menu >> File >> Export to PDF |
First let’s save the Draw file “RouteMap” as a PDF.
From the main menu, select File and click “Export as PDF”. |
PDF options dialog box appears. | The PDF dialog box appears. |

Click General | Click the “General” Tab. |
Select Range >> select All | Under “Range”, let us select “All” as we are converting all the pages in the Draw file to PDF. |
Images >> select “JPEG compression” | Under “Images”, we shall select “JPEG compression”.
This is the most common format that is used for compression. |
PDF options dialog box >> Click “Initial View” | Next, click the Initial View tab. |
Point downwards in the dialog box to the various default settings. | We will keep the default values displayed in the dialog box. |
In PDF options dialog box >> Click “Links”. | Now, click on the Links tab. |
We may have inserted links in the Draw file.
Again, let’s keep the default values set for Links. | |
In PDF options dialog box >> Click “Security” tab. | Now, let’s assign a password to protect the PDF document.

Click Set Open Passwords. | Click on the Set open password button.

In the field “Set open Password”, type the password “ProtectAgain0”. | In the field “Password”, type any password with which you want to protect your file.

In the field “Confirm”, reenter the password “Protect101”.
Click OK. |
In the field “Confirm”, I will re-type my password “Protect101”.

Next, let’s set the permission password to print or modify the document. | |
