Ubuntu Linux OS version 18.04 and LibreOffice Suite version 6.3.5

00:38 Let's open the presentation Sample hyphen Impress dot odp which we saved earlier.

01:04 Let’s learn how to insert a picture into the presentation.
01:09 First, let’s select slide 4 from the Slides Pane.
01:15 Make a duplicate slide by clicking on the Duplicate Slide icon in the Standard toolbar.
01:22 Click on the Title textbox of the slide.
01:26 Change the title from “Long Term Goal” to “Open Source Funny”.
01:32 Click inside the Body textbox below.
01:37 Click on the Insert Image icon in the Standard toolbar.
01:43 Alternatively, click on Insert menu in the menu bar and then on the Image option.
01:52 The Insert Image dialog box appears.
01:56 Go to the location where your picture is saved.
02:01 I will go to Desktop and select the picture opensource hyphen bart dot png.
02:10 Click on the Open button at the top right corner.
02:15 The picture gets inserted into the slide.
02:19 As mentioned earlier, this image has been provided in the Code files link.
02:26 Let's undo the change by pressing Ctrl+Z keys.
02:32 In the centre of the Body textbox, notice a small box with 4 icons.

This is the quick access Insert Toolbar.

02:42 Click on the bottom left icon in the Insert Toolbar named “Insert Image” to insert an image.
02:51 Select opensource hyphen bart dot png and click on the Open button at the top right.
02:59 The image gets inserted into the slide.
03:03 Let’s learn how to change the shape and size of the image.
03:09 There are eight handles named ‘Control Points’ around the corners of the image.
03:17 Hover the mouse on any Control Point till the cursor turns into a ‘double vertical arrow’.
03:25 Now click and hold the left mouse button on any one Control Point.
03:31 Drag the Control Point either down, up, left or right to resize the image as per your requirement.
03:42 Dragging the corner Control points helps us to scale the length and breadth proportionally.
03:50 Once you finish resizing the image, click anywhere in the textbox.
03:56 Let's undo the change by pressing on Ctrl and Z keys.
04:02 Likewise, we can insert other objects like charts and audio-video clips into the slide.

04:16 Next, let’s learn about hyperlink.
04:20 Hyperlinking allows us to:

04:30 Open a web page from the presentation
04:34 First, we will learn how to hyperlink to another slide within a presentation.
04:41 Click on the Title textbox of the slide.
04:45 We will first change the title from “Long term Goal” to “Table of Contents”.
04:52 Then we will move this slide to no. 2 position by clicking on it in the Slides pane.
05:00 Without releasing the mouse button, drag it upward to no. 2 position.
05:07 Now release the mouse button.
05:10 Click on the Body textbox and type the following text:

05:26 Now select the line of text Overview.
05:30 Click on the Insert Hyperlink icon in the Standard Toolbar.
05:35 The Hyperlink dialog box appears on the screen.
05:40 On the left pane of the dialog box, select the Document option.
05:45 Under the Target in Document section, go to the right side of the Target field.
05:51 Click on the Circle icon named Target in document.
05:56 The Target in document dialog box appears on the screen.
06:02 It contains a list of all slides present in the presentation.
06:08 You can select any slide from the list which you want to hyperlink.
06:14 I’m selecting Slide 3 from the list by double-clicking on it.
06:19 Click on the Apply button and then click on the Close button.
06:25 Now we see that Slide 3 is displayed in the Target field.
06:31 At the bottom, click on the Apply button and then on Close button.
06:37 Then click anywhere outside the Body textbox.
06:42 Now, when you hover the cursor over the hyperlinked text, the cursor turns into a pointing finger.
06:51 This means that the hyperlinking was successful!
06:56 Press Ctrl key and click on the hyperlinked text.
07:01 We will be redirected to the relevant slide.
07:05 Next we’ll learn how to hyperlink to another document from this presentation.
07:12 First, go back to the slide titled “Table of Contents”.
07:18 Click inside the Body textbox.
07:21 Type “External Document” as the last line.
07:26 Now select the sentence “External Document”.
07:30 Click on the Insert Hyperlink icon in the Standard Toolbar.
07:35 In the Hyperlink dialog box, on the left pane select the Document section.
07:41 Now, go to the right side of the Path field.
07:45 Click on the Folder icon named ‘Open File’.
07:50 The Open dialog box appears on the screen.
07:54 Here we have to select the document which we want to hyperlink.
08:00 I will go to Desktop and choose Resume.odt file.
08:06 Then click on the “Open” button at the top right corner.
08:11 Notice that the full location of Resume.odt appears in the Path field.
08:18 At the bottom, click on the Apply button and then on Close button.
08:24 Now, click anywhere outside the Body textbox.
08:29 Observe that the text External Document becomes a hyperlinked text.
08:36 Press Ctrl key and click on the hyperlinked text.
08:42 We will be redirected to the relevant document which we had selected.
08:48 In our case, it takes us to Resume.odt
08:53 Hyperlinking to a web page is similar.
08:57 Click on the Body textbox once again.
09:01 Type Ubuntu LibreOffice in another line.
09:06 Select the sentence Ubuntu LibreOffice.
09:10 Click on Insert menu in the menu bar and then click on Hyperlink option.
09:18 In the Hyperlink dialog box, by default, the Internet section is selected in the left pane.
09:25 And in the Hyperlink Type section, the Web radio button is also selected.
09:31 Now in the URL field, type www.libreoffice.org
09:41 At the bottom, click on the Apply button and then on Close button.
09:47 Click anywhere outside the Body textbox.
09:51 Observe that the text Ubuntu LibreOffice becomes a hyperlinked text.
09:58 For the next part of this demonstration, you will need internet connectivity.

If you don’t have it, then skip this part.

10:08 Press Ctrl key and click on the hyperlinked text.
10:13 We will be redirected to the relevant URL.
10:17 Next, we will learn how to insert tables into our presentation.
10:23 Tables are used to organize data in columns and rows.
10:29 Select the slide titled Short Term Strategy from the Slides pane.
10:35 Click on the Slide Layout icon in the Standard Toolbar.
10:40 Click on the Title and 2 Content layout.
10:44 Now, go to the left side Body textbox of the slide.
10:49 Click on the icon named ‘Insert Table’ in the Insert Toolbar.
10:55 The Insert Table dialog box appears on the screen.
11:00 By default, it shows the Number of columns as 5 and Number of rows as 2.
11:08 We can increase or decrease the numbers using the plus and minus buttons.
11:16 I will set the Number of columns as 2 and

Number of rows as 5.

11:23 Click on the ‘Ok’ button at the right hand side corner.
11:28 That’s one way that a table is inserted into the slide.
11:33 Another way to insert a table is by clicking on the Table icon in the Standard toolbar.
11:40 Here we can manually select the rows and columns for the table in the displayed grid.
11:47 Notice that there are Control Points around the table.
11:52 Let’s elongate the table so that the typed text is more readable.
11:58 Click and hold the left mouse button on the lower Control Point and drag it downwards.
12:06 Now type some text into the table as shown here.
12:11 Let's change the font of the header row to Bold and center the text.
12:18 Select the text in the top row.
12:22 Click on the Properties section in the Sidebar.
12:27 Click on the Bold icon and then click on the Align Center icon.
12:34 Next, let’s change the color of the table.
12:38 First select all the text in the table by dragging the mouse like this.
12:45 In the Properties section, go to the Table Design property and select any table style.
12:53 I will select a table style of my choice, from the list.
12:59 Click anywhere outside the Body textbox.

See how the Table looks now.

13:06 Let us save all the changes we made in our presentation by clicking on the Save icon.

And then close the file.
