00:32 This tutorial is recorded using

Ubuntu Linux OS version 18.04 and LibreOffice Suite version 6.3.5

00:46 Let's open the presentation “Sample hyphen Impress dot odp” which we created earlier.
00:55 This file has been provided to you in the Code files link on this tutorial page
01:02 Please download and extract the file
01:05 Make a copy and then use it for practicing
01:10 Let's take a closer look at the Impress window.
01:14 In the centre, we see the Workspace, which is our working area.
01:20 We can customize the view of the Workspace based on our preferences.
01:26 To do so, click on the View menu in the menu bar.
01:31 Then select the View Tab Bar option.
01:36 At the top, the Workspace has 4 tabs called ‘View buttons’.
01:42 By default, the Normal tab is selected.
01:46 This is the main view for creating individual slides.
01:51 Outline tab shows topic titles, bulleted, and numbered lists for each slide in outline format.
02:00 Notes tab lets you add notes to each slide.
02:05 These notes are not seen when the presentation is shown.
02:10 Slide Sorter tab shows thumbnails of slides.
02:15 Let’s click on the Normal tab again.
02:18 Another way to access these is by clicking on the Display Views icon in the Standard toolbar.
02:26 Here, we can see various icons indicating different views of the Workspace.
02:33 On the left-hand side of the screen is the Slides Pane.
02:38 It contains thumbnails of the slides in the presentation.
02:43 On the right-hand side is the Sidebar,

It has 7 sections.

02:50 In the Sidebar, click on the first section named ‘Properties’
02:56 It has a property named “Layouts
03:00 This has various built-in layouts.
03:04 We can use these layouts directly or modify them as per our requirements.
03:11 We shall see each of these sections in detail as we progress through the series.
03:18 Let’s close the Properties section.
03:21 To do so, click on ‘x’ at the top right corner of the Properties section.
03:28 Now, let’s add some content to the 2nd empty slide.
03:33 Click on the 2nd slide in the Slides Pane.
03:37 Click on the textbox that says ‘Click to add Title’ and type “Overview” inside it.
03:46 Then click on the textbox that says ‘Click to add Text’.

And type the following text:

04:43 Let’s look at the first way.
04:46 Select slide 2 in the Slides Pane, by clicking on it.
04:51 If you have resized your LibreOffice window, some of the icons may not be visible.
04:58 In that case, click on the double arrow icon at the end of the toolbars to see the hidden icons
05:06 Click on the New Slide icon in the Standard Toolbar.
05:11 A new blank slide gets inserted after slide 2.
05:17 Let me show you another way to add a new slide.
05:22 Click on the Slide menu in the menu bar

And then on the New Slide option.

05:29 Once again we see that a new blank slide has been inserted.
05:35 Let's add some content into these empty slides.

05:44 Click on the textbox ‘Click to add title’ and type “Short Term Strategy” inside it.
05:52 Likewise, set the title for the 4th slide as “Long Term Goal”.
05:59 Now, let us learn how to copy a slide.

06:11 Select slide 3 in the Slides Pane, by clicking on it.
06:16 Click on the Duplicate Slide icon in the Standard Toolbar.
06:21 A new duplicate slide gets inserted after slide 3.

06:46 Click on the slide titled ‘Overview’ in the Slides Pane.
06:52 Click on the Body textbox and select the second line of text.
06:58 Go to the Sidebar and click on the Properties icon.
07:03 In the ‘Character’ property, change the Font name to “Carlito”.
07:09 Then change the Font size from “26” to “32”.
07:15 Notice that the font has changed as per our selection.
07:20 Next, let’s change the color of the font.
07:24 Click on the Body textbox and select all the text by pressing Ctrl+A keys.
07:32 In the Character property, go to the Font Color icon.
07:37 Then click on the drop-down arrow next to it and select any color that you like.

07:48 Notice the change in color in the text.
07:52 Now, click on the Title textbox and select the entire text.
07:58 Go to the Character property again.

The text is already in bold.

08:04 Now, let’s click on the icons for Italics and Underline.
08:11 Notice the change in the text.
08:15 Finally, we will learn to delete a slide from the presentation.

08:23 First way is to select a slide, say slide 5 in the Slide Pane.
08:30 Then click on the Delete Slide icon in the Standard toolbar.
08:35 Second way is to select a slide, say slide 4 in the Slide Pane.
