00:05 In this tutorial, we will learn about: the concept of Content Management Systems or CMS in short,
00:13 Joomla as a CMS, software and hardware requirements for running Joomla.
00:19 We will also learn about the: operating System and Joomla version to be used
00:25 and overview of the key features that will be demonstrated in the Joomla series.
00:31 Learner of this tutorial should know how to browse a website.
00:36 Let us first understand what Content Management System or CMS is.
00:41 A CMS is a software, used to manage the content of a website.
00:46 It keeps track of every piece of content on the website.
00:50 It allows one to create, modify and remove content from a website without knowing programming skills.

01:07 There are many predefined ready-to-use Joomla templates available online

02:15 At the time of making of this tutorial, Joomla 3.4.1 is the latest version.
02:22 The Joomla developer community keeps releasing newer versions with added features.
02:28 It is always recommended to work with the latest stable version that is available.
02:34 Joomla 3.4.1 requires the following:

Apache 2.x plus or IIS 7 +

MySQL 5.0.4 + and

PHP 5.2.4 plus
