00:39 First, let us learn about FrontAccounting.
00:43 FrontAccounting is a web based accounting software for small to medium sized enterprises.
00:50 It is an open source software.
00:53 Here are some of the key features of FrontAccounting.
00:58 It works on Linux, Windows and Mac operating systems.
01:03 It automates accounting tasks and thereby reduces chances of error.
01:10 FrontAccounting gives a professional output.
01:14 It contains a number of ready to use report templates.
01:19 It helps to manage all aspects of business. i.e from job costing to inventory management to financial statements.
01:29 FrontAccounting can be used by Accountants, Finance professionals, commerce teachers and students.
01:39 Now, we will briefly go through the individual tutorials in this series.
01:44 The first tutorial in this series explains-
01:48 installation of FrontAccounting in Ubuntu Linux operating system,
01:53 the pre-requisites for installation such as Apache, PHP5 and MySQL server,
02:00 and, how to create a database for FrontAccounting.

02:19 Save the tar.gz file that is displayed on the screen.

02:40 install FrontAccounting software in Windows operating system.

02:51 To run FrontAccounting, we require a web server, php and a database on our machine.
02:57 We will use Apache as our web server and MySQL as our database.
03:04 By installing XAMPP package, all of these will get installed together.
