Introduction

DSpace is an open source that enables open sharing of content that spans organizations, continents and time.It is shared under a BSD license, which enables users to customize or extend the software as needed. For more information on DSpace please click here and watch the Brief Description Video.

DSpace can be used for self archiving by institutions and faculties. It provides long-term physical storage and management of digital items in a repository.For more information on usage of DSpace please visit this link Why Use DSpace

The platform is used by higher education institutions for whom the platform was initially developed, and in addition the software has shown broad appeal. The software has been used by museums, state archives, museums, state and National Libraries, journal repositories, consortium, and commercial companies to manage their digital assets.
