OS and versions
|| Here we are using GNU Linux as our operating system and LibreOffice Suite version 3.3.4.

|-
|| Go to File>>open and double-click on “Sample-Impress.odp”
|| Lets open our presentation “Sample Impress” that we created in the previous tutorial.

|-
||
|| Lets take a tour of what is on the screen.

|-
|| Point to the centre pane.
|| In the centre, we see the ‘Workspace’, which is our working area.

|-
|| Point to the 5 tabs at the top of the “Workspace” pane.
|| As you can see, the “Workspace” has 5 tabs called the “View buttons”.

|-
|| Point to the “Normal” tab.
|| Currently the “Normal” tab is selected.
This is the main view for creating individual slides.

|-
|| Click on the “Outline” tab.
|| The “Outline” view shows topic titles, bulleted and numbered lists for each slide in outline format.

|-
|| Click on the “Notes” tab.
|| The “Notes” view lets you add notes to each slide that are not seen when the presentation is shown.

|-
|| Click on the “Handout” tab.
|| The “Handout” view allows to print the slides for a handout.

Here we can choose the number slides that we want to print per page.

|-
|| Click on the “Slide Sorter” tab.
|| The “Slide Sorter” view shows thumbnails of slides.

|-
|| Click on the “Normal” view button.
|| Lets click on the “Normal” view button again.

|-
|| Point to the “Slides” pane on the left of the screen.

Point to the thumbnails.
|| On the left hand side of the screen, you see the “Slides” pane.
It contains ‘thumbnails’ of the slides in the presentation.

|-
|| Point to the 5 sections.
|| On the right hand side, you see the “Tasks” pane, which has 5 sections.

|-
|| Click on the Layout section.
|| The Layouts section has pre-packaged layouts.
We can use these directly or modify them as per our requirements.

|-
|| Point to the 5 sections again.
|| We shall see each of these sections in detail as we progress through the tutorial series.

|-
||
Click on the second slide in the slide pane.

|| Now, lets learn how to insert a slide.
Select the second slide, in the “Slides” pane, by clicking on it.

|-
|| Go to Insert-> Slide

Point to the inserted slide.
|| Now we click on “Insert” and “Slide”.
We see that a new blank slide has been inserted after the second slide.

|-
|| Click on ‘Click to add Title’ text box.
|| To add a title to the slide, click on the text bar that says ‘Click to add Title’.

So a title can be added in this way.

|-
|| Click on Insert->Duplicate slide
|| There are two ways in which we can make a copy of a slide.

Let’s look at the first way;
Click on “Insert” and “Duplicate Slide”.
We can see that a new duplicate slide has been inserted after the one we created in the previous step.

|-
||
Click on Slide Sorter tab in the Workspace pane.

|| Alternately, go to the slide sorter view by clicking on the “Slide Sorter” tab in the “Workspace” pane.

|-
|| Right click on the 7th slide >> select Copy
|| Now copy the 7th slide by right-clicking on it and selecting “Copy” from the context menu.

|-
|| Right click on the last slide >> click Paste >>

|| Right click on the last slide and select “Paste”.

|-
|| Select After >> click OK.
|| Select ‘After’ and click ‘OK’.

You have now created a copy of the slide at the end of the presentation!

|-
||

Select the slide entitled ‘Long term goal’.

|| Now let’s look at fonts and some of the ways that you can format fonts.
