00:01 Welcome to the Spoken Tutorial on Editing Curves and Polygons in LibreOffice Draw Editing Curves and Polygons in LibreOffice Draw.
00:07 In this tutorial, you will learn how To edit Curves and Polygons in Draw.
00:13 For this tutorial, you should have basic knowledge of LibreOffice Draw.If not, for relevant tutorials please visit this website.
00:23 Here we are using Ubuntu Linux version 10.04 and LibreOffice Suite version 3.3.4.
00:32 Let us open our Routemap drawing once again.
00:37 Previously, we learnt to draw curves and polygons.Now let us learn how to edit them.
00:42 Let’s change the shape of the School Campus.
00:48 We will use the Edit Points toolbar to do this.
00:52 From the Main menu, click View, select Toolbars, and click Edit Points.
01:00 The Edit Points toolbar is displayed.
01:04 Now, let us select the polygon School Campus.
01:09 Click the Points icon on the Edit Points tool bar.
01:12 In the object, the green selection handles will change to blue edit points.This indicates you are in the Edit point mode.
01:23 On the Edit Points toolbar, click on the Insert points icon.
01:29 Move to the Draw page.The cursor will turn into a plus sign.
01:35 Place this plus sign on the left of the School Campus polygon.
01:41 Press the left mouse button and drag it to the right.Release the button.You have inserted a point.
01:51 The options in the Edit Points toolbar are enabled.
02:00 Click on Symmetric Transition.
02:03 The dotted control line appears next to the point.
02:07 Let’s drag the control line outwards to change the shape of the campus.The shape has changed!
02:16 To exit, from the Edit Points toolbar, click Points.
02:21 Now let’s elongate the campus to the right side.
02:26 Let’s specifically move only the last point on the top right.
02:30 Select the School Campus polygon.
02:34 Let’s enable the Edit Points toolbar.
02:38 The blue edit points appear on the object.Let us select this point.
02:45 On the Edit Points toolbar, click Move points.
02:50 You will see that the selected point becomes dark blue.
02:54 Now let’s drag the point to the right.
02:58 We can use the grid to position objects as per our requirement.
03:03 We have changed the shape of the School Campus again!
03:09 Pause this tutorial and do this assignment.
03:12 Draw a curve and Apply all the options from the Edit Points toolbar on it.Remember you need a lot of practice to master the Edit Points toolbar.
03:25 Lastly, let us group all the objects in the map.Press Ctrl + A Key on the keyboard and right-click for the Context menu.
03:35 Now select Group.All the objects are grouped now.
03:43 The map is complete!You can also color the buildings; add roads using lines, add traffic signals and any other detail you require.
