0:00 Welcome to the Spoken Tutorial on Organizing Bookmarks and Printing in Mozilla Firefox.
0:07 In this tutorial, we will learn about Bookmarks.
0:11 We will also learn, how to: Organize Bookmarks, Setup up the Firefox Page, Preview and Print it.
0:18 Here we are using Firefox 7.0 on Ubuntu 10.04.
0:26 Let us open the Firefox browser.
0:29 By default the yahoo home page opens.
0:32 Bookmarks help you navigate to pages that you use often.
0:37 We had learnt a little bit about Bookmarks in an earlier tutorial.
0:42 We had also added a bookmark for gmail there.
0:46 Let’s click on this to open the gmail home page.
0:50 You are directed to the gmail home page.
0:53 Did you notice the yellow star on the right of the gmail address in the Address bar?
0:59 This indicates that this site has been bookmarked.
1:03 You can also use the star to change the name of a bookmark and store it in a different folder.
1:09 Let’s change the name of gmail to mygmailpage and store it in a new folder named MyNewBookmarks.
1:18 In the Address bar, click on the yellow star.
1:22 The Edit This Bookmark dialog box appears.
1:25 In the Name field, enter mygmailpage.
1:29 Click on the Folder drop-down and select Choose.
1:34 * Select Bookmarks menu and click on New Folder.
1:39 * A New Folder is created.
1:41 * Rename this folder MyBookmarks.
1:45 In Tags type email.
1:49 * Tags help us categorize bookmarks.
1:52 * You can associate a number of tags with a bookmark.
1:55 * For example, when you bookmark a shopping site,
1:58 * You might tag it with the words gifts, books or toys.

2:06 * Alternately, you can also press the CTRL and D keys

2:12 From the Menu bar, click on Bookmarks.
2:16 The MyBookMarks folder is displayed in the Bookmarks menu.
2:20 Place the cursor on the folder.
2:23 The mygmailpage bookmark is saved there.
2:27 Now, in the Address bar, type the tag, email.
2:31 Notice that the site mygmailpage is displayed as the first option on the list.
2:38 So, we have renamed the bookmark, saved it in another folder and located it using a tag!

3:03 * Now, from the right corner of the Address bar, click on the star.

3:40 And how do we delete a bookmark we created?
3:44 Of course, you’ve already noticed the Remove bookmark button in the Edit This Bookmark dialog box.
3:50 Let’s delete the www.google.com bookmark.
3:55 In the Address bar, type www.google.com. Click on the yellow star.
4:03 From the Edit This Bookmark dialog box, click the Remove Bookmark button.
4:09 * From Menu bar, click on Bookmarks and MyBookmarks.

4:19 How can you access the bookmarks you create?


4:23 You can access bookmarks in many ways.
4:26 The easiest way, to access a site that you bookmarked, is to type the name in the Address bar.
4:33 Click on the Address bar, select the address displayed and delete it.
4:39 Now, in the Address bar, type the letter G.
4:43 * Notice that a list of the websites that begin with G are displayed.
4:49 * These are also the sites that you've bookmarked, tagged, and visited.
4:55 You can also view and arrange your bookmarks in the Library window.
5:00 From Menu bar, click on Bookmarks and select Show All Bookmarks.
5:06 The Library window opens.
5:09 By default all the bookmarks that you created are saved in the Unsorted Bookmarks folder.
5:16 Notice that the Yahoo, Spoken Tutorial, Ubuntu and FireFox Add-ons bookmarks are listed here.
5:24 Let’s say we want to add the Yahoo India bookmark to the Bookmarks menu.
5:29 * First, let’s move the Library window to the centre of the screen.
5:34 * Now, we can view the Menu bar and the options clearly.
5:39 From the Unsorted Bookmarks folder select the Yahoo bookmark.
5:43 * Press the left mouse button, and drag the bookmark to the Bookmarks menu.
5:49 * Ensure that the cursor is over the Bookmarks menu.
5:53 The Bookmark menu expands.
5:56 Place the mouse pointer on the menu and release the left mouse button.
6:01 Now click on the Bookmark menu.
6:04 The Yahoo bookmark now appears on the Bookmark menu.
6:08 To open a bookmark directly from the Library window, simply double-click on it.
6:15 Now, let’s close the Library window.
6:19 Firefox also allows you to sort bookmarks.
6:23 Let’s Sort bookmarks by Names.
6:26 From Menu bar, click View, select Sidebar, and then click on Bookmarks.

6:42 From the Bookmarks sidebar, select the Unsorted Bookmarks folder and right-click on it.
6:48 Select Sort By Name.
6:51 The bookmarks are sorted by name.
6:54 You can also rearrange the bookmarks manually.
6:57 From the Bookmarks Sidebar, click on and open the Bookmarks Menu folder.
7:03 Next, click on and open the Unsorted Bookmarks folder.
7:08 Move the mouse over the Spoken Tutorial bookmark.
7:12 Now, press the left mouse button and drag the bookmark up to Ubuntu and Free Software folder in the Bookmarks Sidebar.

7:25 The bookmark is moved to the Ubuntu and Free Software folder.
7:30 Changes you make in the Bookmarks Sidebar are also reflected in the Bookmarks menu.
7:35 You can also sort bookmarks automatically.
7:39 From the Menu bar, click Bookmarks and select Show all bookmarks.
7:45 In the Library window that appears, from the left panel, select Unsorted bookmarks.
7:51 Now, click on Views, Sort and Sort by Added.
7:57 The address are sorted by the order in which they were added as bookmarks. Click Close.

8:08 First let’s set up this web page for printing.
8:12 From the Firefox menu bar, click File and select Page Setup.
8:17 The Page Setup dialog box appears.
8:21 Select the Paper Size as A4.
8:24 Choose Orientation as Portrait.
8:28 Click Apply.
8:30 To check how the settings have been applied, click File and select Print Preview.
8:36 You can see the page exactly as it would look when it is printed.

8:42 From the Firefox menu bar, click File and select Print.
8:47 The Print dialog box appears on the screen.
8:50 Here we select the Generic Printer option in General Tab.

9:04 Click the Options tab and select Ignore Scaling and Shrink To Fit Page Width.

9:12 If the printer is configured correctly, the printer should start printing now.
