Go to your user page

Show the edit box. Lets say you want to create your profile page in MediaWiki. Any profile page will have different sections like Personal Information, Education details, Experience and Hobbies. Lets see how we can create each of them as headings. Lets assign level 1 header to your name. To create your name as first level heading, enclose your name with single equal to on both sides. Scroll down and click save page button. You can see your name with big font.
Show the edit box. Click on the edit tab again. Now, let us apply level 2 headings to Personal Information, Education details, Experience and Hobbies. Enclose each of the above text with 2 equal to on both sides. You can increase the level of heading of the page by increasing the number of 'equal to' sign on both sides of the heading text. With each increase of level of heading, font size of the heading text will be decreased. Lets apply level 3 heading to contact details. Enclose contact details with 3 equal to on both sides.
Scroll down and click save page button. Scroll down and click save page button. You can see a table of content generated. Table of contents will automatically appear on a wiki page that use 4 or more headings. But, you can force table of contents on your wiki page by typing __FORCETOC__ even if it has less than 4 headings.

you can type this command anywhere in the wiki page

Point to hide button in Table of Contents box. You can see hide link on the right hand side of the table of contents box. Click on that link. Table of content will be collapsed.
Click on any heading in the table Please Click on any heading in the table of contents. You can go directly to that section of that wiki page. Suppose, you want to view the contact details, click on contact details. You will be redirected to contact details.
Point to edit link beside header For every heading of the section, there is an option for editing at the right hand side corner. If you click on that edit link, that section of the text under that heading only will be available for editing. If you want add phone number to contact details, click on edit button that is visible at the right hand side corner. You can see the Contact details header. You can add your phone number.
