00:01 Welcome to the spoken tutorial on Installation of CellDesigner
00:05 In this tutorial we will learn : to download and install CellDesigner 4.3 on Windows Operating System.
00:14 To record this tutorial, I am using Windows XP andCellDesigner version 4.3
00:21 Please note that CellDesigner works on Linux and Mac OS X also.
00:27 Please note you need to be an admin user if you want to install any software.
00:34 You can download CellDesigner from www.celldesigner.org website
00:42 On the home page, you will find downloads tab. Click on it.
00:48 It will take you to another page. Scroll down.
00:53 click on Download CellDesigner.
00:56 Scroll down. Under Download heading, four links are present.
01:03 Click on the first link i.e. Download for windows 32 bit.
01:09 It will take you to another page.
01:11 Here there are two options - Registered User and First Time User
01:17 As you are First Time User' now.
01:21 Click on First Time User. Click on Continue .
01:25 now you have to Fill in your details.
01:27 Let me fill in the details.
01:30 Once you have fill in the details . Then scroll down and click on Download .
01:37 you need to fill this information only once.
01:41 Later if you want to install any new version you need to click on Registered user .
01:48 Type the email address and password and you will get the set up file like this .
01:53 Now, click on Save File'
01:56 This will start downloading the set-up file. It will take few minutes.
02:02 After downloading is complete the open the set-up file,
02:07 Click on it. Click on Run .
02:12 Click on Next button
02:14 Select the option I accept the agreement.
02:17 Click on Next button.
02:20 Select a destination folder to install CellDesigner on your computer.
02:25 Click on Next button
02:27 Click on Next button
02:31 Click on Finish button to complete the installation procedure.
02:36 You will get some instructions. Read it carefully.
02:40 And then click on OK .
02:44 Now click on the shortcut CellDesigner icon on the Desktop to open CellDesigner.
02:52 This is the CellDesigner Interface.
02:56 We will learn about the menu bars , tool bars and various panels in the coming tutorials.
03:02 This is a model drawn with the help of CellDesigner.
03:07 Here the substrate binds with the enzyme, and an enzyme-substrate complex is formed. The substrate is transformed into product.
03:17 Let us see this model in CellDesigner
03:20 We can draw many such biological networks using CellDesigner.
03:25 To test the installation has happened properly.
03:30 Lets go back to Celldesigner window.
03:34 Lets just add a Protein here.
03:37 Lets go to File, Click on New .
03:41 I will give the name as trial . Click on OK.
03:45 Let me Select the protein.
03:48 Click here and Name it as 'A'.
03:52 and Click on OK
