00:30 To access the Spoken Tutorial website, you should have- a working internet connection
00:37 and a web browser installed on your machine.
00:41 I will be using the latest version of Firefox web browser for demonstration.
00:48 Who is an anonymous user?
00:51 Anonymous user is one who explores our website without logging in.
00:58 Let us first open the Spoken Tutorial website.
01:02 In your web-browser address bar, type:

http://spoken-tutorial.org/ and press Enter.

01:17 The Spoken Tutorial website opens.
01:21 You can see the main menu here, with few tabs.
01:27 For details on organized SELF workshops, click on the Software Training tab.
01:34 Under Software Training, we will see four sections.
01:39 "Software Training"
01:41 "Procedures"
01:43 "Training/ Workshop"
01:45 "Online test".
01:47 Let's see them one by one.
01:50 Under Software Training section, we see 4 links-
01:55 "About the training/workshops" gives details about organizing workshops.
02:02 "Progress to date" gives details of the no. of workshops conducted by the project, till date.
02:11 "Software offered" lists the courses offered for workshops and online self-learning.
02:19 "Contacts for training/ workshops" lists state-wise training manager's contact details.
02:27 Click on the respective links & read more details on each of them.
02:33 Next section is "Procedures".
02:36 Under "Procedures" section, we will see links for- "Organizing Training/Workshop" and
02:45 "Instruction for Downloading Tutorials".
02:48 To know more, click on the respective links & explore.
02:53 Next link is "Create your own disc image".
02:57 This facility is for offline learning. Let us look at it in detail.

03:06 It will redirect you to "CD Content Creation" window.
03:11 Select the FOSS Category that you wish to learn.
03:15 I will choose, Firefox.
03:18 Select an appropriate Level as per your learning need.
03:23 I will choose All.
03:25 Click on Languages list box.
03:28 Now, choose the language in which you wish to learn.
03:32 You can select single/ multiple languages.
03:37 Hold the Ctrl key to select multiple languages.
03:41 Let me select English and Hindi.
03:45 Click on Add selected FOSS button.
03:48 On the right side, you will get a table with your selection, along with the estimated file size.
03:57 If you wish to add more FOSS, repeat the above steps.
04:02 The new selection will also be added to the list.
04:06 Now, click on Create ZIP file button to download the content on your machine.
04:13 It will create .zip file.
04:16 Click on OK to save this zip file on your machine.
04:21 Once downloaded, unzip it.
04:25 Open the folder, locate the Read me file and read it for instructions on how to proceed.
04:35 So, in this way, you can learn the content offline.
04:40 Let's click on Software Training tab once again.
04:45 Next section of Software Training is Training / Workshop.
04:50 In this section, you will see links for- Training/Workshop Dashboard,
04:57 Participant Dashboard.
05:00 To access these links, you have to register on our website.
05:05 Details of these are presented in the About the Training/Workshop link, seen earlier.

05:17 Click on it to see the complete list of our Resource Centers.
05:22 Select the filters for State and Institution Type.
05:28 For demonstration, from the State drop-down, I will select Bihar.
05:34 From Institution Type, I will select University.
05:39 Lastly, click on Filter button.
05:43 The displayed list shows State, Institution Name, Address and name of the Contact Person.
05:52 To know more about a particular Resource Center, click on View link, under the Action column.
06:00 You will get complete information about that particular Academic Center.
06:06 Let's come back to the Homepage by clicking on the logo.
06:11 Now, let's learn about Creation process of spoken tutorials.

08:14 You will see the following sub-menu items- Testimonials,

08:35 Now, let's move to Forums tab on the Main menu.
08:40 The same is available in the middle of the Homepage as well.

08:48 Click on the link “Click here to proceed”.
08:52 Spoken tutorial forums page opens in a new tab.
08:57 In the main menu, you will see links for Search, Ask Question, Login.
09:06 Below this is a scrolling bar, displaying various software names.
09:12 Under the specific software name, you will see a button Ask new question.
09:20 In some cases, you will see another button View previous questions.
09:27 Click on these buttons to ask a new question or view the earlier ones.
09:34 To view all the previous questions on all the courses, click on the View all previous questions button.
09:44 All the recently posted questions are visible right below this button.
09:50 In the main menu, click on Search link.
09:54 Here you can search through the questions based on Search by keyword or Search by time.
10:05 Let me search by keyword.
10:08 I will type php as the keyword and click on Search button.
10:15 A list of all the questions asked in the php series is displayed.
10:21 For similar type of questions on the selected FOSS category, click on the magnifying glass.
10:29 You will get a list of similar type of questions for that FOSS.
10:35 To get similar questions in the tutorial, click on the magnifying glass in the Tutorial column.
10:43 Next, let’s try searching by video time. Click the Search by Time tab.
10:50 Select the appropriate FOSS category,

10:56 Time interval in mins and secs from drop-down list.

11:06 You will get the list of all questions related to that particular tutorial.
11:12 Ask Question facility is available only to registered users.
11:18 Now, go back to the Spoken Tutorial website.

11:26 Then, click on About Us.
11:29 Here, you can read details about the overall objectives of the Spoken Tutorial project.

11:42 Here, you can read about the mission of the Spoken Tutorial project.
11:48 Lastly, we come to the Statistics tab.
11:52 It has the links for Workshop/Training,
11:57 Online-Test, Academic Center,

12:04 Each link has a Statistics and interactive motion chart based on filters like State, City, FOSS etc.
